anyone have advice on clones damping off? they look great for about a week then all of a sudden I notice white fuzz growing by where the stem goes into rockwool....when I tug on that particular clone the stem breaks right off where the stem meets the rockwool and its all rotten. anyone else have this problem in the past and knows how to correct it? I use a tray, heat mat, dome (vents open) olivias, rockwool, temp is 75 in room, I used to clone years ago with 100% success so I know cuts are right and all of that. just don't know why they keep getting this white fuzzy shit on them????? HELP!!!!!!

Umm How often do you change the water in the tray? I would remove the seed mats. I used to have the same problem and it was because it would get hot and the water at the bottom would be hot and stagnant . Thats mold buddy.

This has never happened to me check the ttemperature of the water in the tray .u also might be watering to much let them dry up some before you water.. and only keep the dome on for the first 5 days..

Heat mat. Check the heat mat!

I suspect your heat mat is wrong or has a fault. Growers who have issues with seeds and clones turning to 'mush' often have a heat mat issue.

The guy at the grow store today told me my problem was that I had water in the tray to begin with, that rockwool doesn't need to have water at bottom of tray, and he told me to not mist the dome at all. Does this make sense? Because I know what is there is mold I bought a new dome, tray, new bottle of Clonex (maybe my olivias had been contaminated some how?) and even some Europonic rockwool conditioning solution (GM at store swore by it) its supposed to ph the rockwool perfectly,,, I am trying everything so i thought why not for $13. He did tell me to lose the heat mat due to it being 75* constant in the room an a heat mat is not needed. Does anyone here not have water at the bottom of the tray? is that how its supposed to work? I am not successful with this so I didn't want to argue but when I was leaving I asked how much water should I have in tray and he said "NONE!!! that's why you are getting mold from there being too much water" I am gonna try, wish me luck.....

Oh and the reason I was using a heat mat in the first place was because I was having the problem and thought maybe it was what I needed to rectify the situation, I don't think it was and I am gonna try doing everything without it from here on out

.

Pre-soak the rockwool with light nutes
Get the plant you would like to cut,
Make a NICE cut of a FAT STEM if you can ( The better the cut the better the growth) IMO
Cut it and with a razor slice it at an angle UNDERWATER take it out and put it in the clonex for about 10-15 secs
Put it in then your good to go.
NOW you have to worry about keeping mold/algae out.
for the first 5 days I usually keep the lid on with vents closed and NO ADDED WATER.
If your area is hot you might want to check on it on a daily basis and add water if needed.
Also check you lights. There might be TOO MUCH light. That was a problem I had too. If the Light is right on top of the dome its gonna cool the clones.

Hopes this helps.

I have a 2 foot t12 fixture 1 bulb little under cabinet light from like lowes, I don't think its too much light but it is only 3-4 inches over dome, so I'm gonna raise that up a bit thanks
