Most Hermies are caused by stress. If the plant turns out to be male or hemied, just throw away the corresponding clones.I have some really nice feminized seed vegging and thought of taking some clones, but I'm worried they will turn hermi.
Anyone here had success cloning feminized seed? Or is it not a good idea?
Cool, I like the idea of growing one clone into a mother plant, as you suggested in that other thread. Most Hermies are caused by stress. If the plant turns out to be male or hemied, just throw away the corresponding clones.
This is what I was hoping to hear, thanks.clones from a fem plant will be femal, so if your seed was fem i think your chances are like 99% female
Shot, I think I may just take one clone to veg into a mother plant, that way I wont upset the plants too much. Also they are in a bubbler and a few days from switching so I think one or two clones should save me buying seed again, which is the goal here. The clone will be an exact copy of the original plant. If it's not a hermie then your clone won't be hermies unless stress is introduced. Go for it.
Good idea, i will do that.id push your flowering day up a week or so to give her time to heal
otherwise, it sounds like a good plan
I should be clearCool, I like the idea of growing one clone into a mother plant, as you suggested in that other thread.
I see, thanks for clearing that up. I guess I could do it that way, and it sounds like a great method. It's just that I only have 8 of those plants but I'm going to need 32 clones for my next grow.I should be clear
I prefer growing out a batch of clones, and taking cuttings from those, before putting them into flower (to continue the genetic line without stressing one plant (a mother).
Then when the next group is ready to be flowered, I'll take another batch of clones/cuttings from them.
This way no one plant is over-stressed
I don't however see a problem with taking 2 or 3 cuttings off a plant every couple months, so I guess it depends on your growing style. If you have a place to keep a mother, and you don't take many clones, she shouldn't be over-stressed.
