Cloning a Leaf??

I have always wondered if cloning a leaf would work, im not sure how the bud would form or anything but has anyone ver done it before??? there is another expieriment i wanted to try >> i am going to grow a plant to about 12 inches long and train it to grow sideways, then when the time is right cut one of the leaves off, not the stem of the leaf but jsut the leaf itself then dip it in rooting powder and stick it into the ground so that it would be one plant but with 2 root systems
 
you need to clone a node, as the node is the magic part of the plant that grows new parts and weed.
 
you are wasting your time man.

fan leaves will not root.
sorry to burst your bubble, but it would be a waste of rooting hormone, possibly mess up your soil if you put the hormone in it.
 
haha its bin done on here b4 m8,

they do root..... but it just keeps itself green.

if you want new shit to grow u need a node :(.............. would be mint if ever leave could be a proper clone.

i remember that dude woomeister or something like that, was talking about this. he never posted any pics, but said it could be done. if all it does is keep the leaf alive, then what's the point? i think you "must" have a growth tip to actually get a harvest.
 
I'm pretty sure it can be done, but the leave has no where/way to grow taller, cuz' there's no stalk, just stem.

:?:Isn't the whole point of the avatar to distinguish oneself through individual picture?

If the avatar was from another website that be just theft of intellectual property of which almost everyone approves.

But why one earth would you steal from the same forum and insist it is yours?:?::?::?:

1) You CAN root a leaf
2) You CAN NOT produce a new plant from a leaf because a leaf supports the plant, the nodes produce more nodes which produce more nodes. (Which is the important part to clone).
3) That IS NOT GrassMasters avatar, he jacked it.
4) That IS O4aUsErNaMe's avatar, which obviously GrassMaster envies.
 
It was from a node I cut and jacked up, but I had alot more space for clones, so I dipped it and stuck it in. The very bottom, where I dipped it, was a node but all cut up. I left that leaf in there for like 3 weeks and seen it had rooted from the bottom of the pot. After about three weeks a little top showed, it grew all the way from the bottom haha.
