Cloning from 16th day of flowering.

I have 3 papayas in flower for 16 days now. I cut 4 lower branches off the bottoms that weren't getting much light. 3 of them have real small flowers on the tops of them and 1 has none at all. What do you think are the chances of them rooting. I didn't have any rooting hormone so I just put them into Aerogarden foam seed holders and placed those into shot glasses filled with water. They are placed on the upper shelf in my closet out of direct light. Thanks.

I'm curios, too. I had thought about doing this, but was told that taking cuttings from a plant that is over a week and a half into flower will cause the plant you cut from to lose some strength due to the attention that the new wound will require from the plant. But I don't know how true that is.

should be fine. keep the water in the glass warm-ish like 70 degrees. if you dont like useing rooting horomone i would suggest willow water. from the actual tree...shit works awesome. keep it decently high humidity too. like 70 percent

what would be the best way to keep the humidity high? I just built a rubbermaid tub with a light in it for vegging that I am not using yet. What could I do to use that as a cloning box for now?

Allright. I had a little brain storming when I was taking a shit. I have a thing for making fried foods called a Batter Pro. It is a 3 part plastic container with 2 big bowls and a sifting screen in the middle. I filled the bottom bowl with water and placed the plastic screen on top. I then placed the 4 clones on the screen and put the top on leaving a little gap for air to circulate. the top is a cloudy clear plastic so I wonder if it is blocking enough of the light out. Here are a few pics to get the general idea. Let me know if I am completly out of my mind here or if it may work to keep the humidity higher. Thanks.
