cloning in peat plugs, to hydro.....?

so i hear peat plugs are pretty good for cloning. the thing is, i plan to put my clones in hydro afterwards. would this be a good/bad idea? i dont want the peat plugs to make a mess once i put them in larger rockwool cubes. thanks for any response!

I've seen this same question creeping around in other threads and I think the general consensus is that its messy but works. However most of the people that replied to those posts were much like me (Never done it but think it would work just fine) No one really posts after the matter to confirm or deny it lol. You might just have to experiment and post your results!
