cloning, no mother plant

instead of keeping a mother plant is it possible to keep cloning from clones? like taking a clone from the original plants put the original plant into flower. veg the clones for a month take some cuttings from the clones. put the clones into flower. veg the cuttings for a month take some clones from the cuttings. put the cuttings into flower and keep on repeating the process. will it lose any potency or anything bad?

yes,
but I don't know how may times before quilty is effected. like when you copy a zerox or fax. If you do it enough well would dope do the same. My guess is no you can go forever.

edit: 2 weeks to root clones with little to no new growth. you may need more then 1 mouth of veg after. so about every 2 mounts.

also it takes about 2 mounts to flower

my plan is to harvest every month. i have a seperate flowering room with a 150hps. start with 2 flowering then add 2 more after a month and keep on rotating. im not planning to have monster plants 1-1.5 ft only. so 3 weeks of veg after rooting will be good enough i think. ill be happy with just half oz each harvest. so a yes and a no? anyone expert out there can enlighten me?

I aquired my indica start/clone 15 yrs ago.... I ve been pullings starts every 2 months for the past 15 years ....I have never kept a mother plant....Im still growing the same strain with no problems

I have pulled 90 different start cycles from the original clone............why do you need a mother???

It's always good to have a mother plant when something goes horribly wrong and everything dies.

.....if that happened then your mother would probably be dead too:lol:

This is what I'm interested in, taking clones in this method, I'm not a nube when it comes to vegging,flowering,harvesting,curing...but cloning I have no experience in, I've always grown from seed-started crops. I don't want to have another grow room to keep a mother plant because I only have one carbon filter to deal with the smell. I'd rather just have my small 7" propagation tray to keep a few clones under CFL's , and have my closet main grow room for flowering which has a 2600 carbon filter and hi-output 5" inline canfan to rid smell. I will eventually get another inline fan and carbon filter but not anytime soon, I've never fooled with cloning but this method the OP is asking about sounds very practical and space-saving.

Completly off-topic but how is the canfan? I just ordered a 4" can fan.

If you are cloneing then letting them clones come through to a decent size about a ft i can't see a problem with that. But i do think that keeping a mother plant for a few month make's the herb more potent never done the coneing like you are saying got a bluberry mother in bud now she is 4 ft in week 2 of budding she looks so good.Just b4 i put her to bud i took some clones of here and i allreadyhave my next mother comeing along nice i keep mothers for anything from 5/7 months but they can be kept alot longer.

Lucas- I have the RS 5L HO Can Fan, mated to the 2600 CanFan filter, I couldn't be more pleased, it does a great job at getting rid of smell, I only use a 3' x 3.5' area inside a walk-in closet thats actually a huge closet... 3.5' x 8.5' and the ceiling is 7.5' , I have it mounted up at the ceiling and it pulls all the smell and even pulls out some of the heat. I have an Active Air 265 cfm squirrel cage fan that I screwed onto the top of the door frame blowing air in that I cut down and made the door shorter by 12" so I could nail a 2x12 board in its place with 2 holes...one in vent and one out vent. I can say that my squirrel cage fan runs extremely hot and it has no load on it, I still regret ordering it, my plan is to buy 2 more CanFans , one to replace my squirrel cage and one to put onto my reflector so I can use my glass lense with it. My CanFan never runs hot, doesnt even get warm, inline fans are the way to go, 2 of the top makers are Can Fan and Vortex, my Active Air squirrel cage will blister your skin if you put your palm on the motor for more than 2 seconds.
