Cloning Problem

Here was my process:

- 10 potential WW mother plants in DWC
- 2 clones taken from each
- 18 of the 20 clones rooted in an aerocloner
- The best clone from each of the 10 potential mother plants was transferred to DWC buckets with hydroton
- Clones under one 400w HPS 24" + away from clones

Since moving the 10 clones to the buckets they have totally wilted, I have been pouring water over them to keep the hydroton wet. 3 of the 10 clones have perked up but the other 7 are drying up.

Did I do something wrong?
What should I have done differently?
Will this affect the plants later on? i.e. more likely to hermie?

Please help me out, I am feeling sick to my stomach!

So your clones have rooted, and are now wilting?

Do you know what your temp is? Water ph? How often are you pouring water over them?

It might be some overwatering. :hump:

Thanks for the reply.

The temp in the room is a pretty consistent 72f. The pH is 5.8. Since I have started pouring water over them they have begun to perk up.

Went down and checked before the light came on and now most are perking back up. They don't look that good but they are standing up at least.

I think the light was to close?

I only have 2 weeks into this should I just start over?

No, don't start over. There aren't any pictures, but what you are describing is pretty normal. The roots haven't reached the water yet so they are drying up a bit. You can foliar feed with just plain phed water to help them along and relieve some of the stress.

Did you put them in any kind of medium that retains moisture like rockwool or just little rapid rooters or something? If you can hand water you should do it 3 times per day to keep the moisture going for them. You're on the right track.

Anyone have any thoughts about these pics?

I am still not sure if they are worth saving?

On 5 of the 10 plants the leaves are pretty crispy.
