Cloning question? for the experts...

Hi, all.

I got 4 clones from a buddy's B.C. GodBud plant (big healthy bitch) before it went to flower- it was grown from a feminized seed (which I understand can be difficult to clone 1st generation)... I am afraid they got slightly cooked (inadvertently) for about an hour when they were too close to a 1000 watt halide in my veg room. :dunce:

Of the 4 clones, two made it, but they are not the best looking plants (kinda stunted and beat looking)...I am hoping they will recover (they are only two weeks old), but for some reason I do not have a good feeling about these doing well.

Now, I am told that when you clone, you get an exact copy of the genetics of the mother plant. If I veg these out, and they are stunted, etc., will the clones I take from these survivors be stunted also; or will they be nice healthy ones??? (provided they are not subjected to stress as these were)...

Thanks in advance;
J.D.

I've taken clones from stressed plants before. The clones turned into perfectly healthy plants before the host plant recovered. No detectable genetic loss.

I actually took cuttings from a dying bagseed plant. Heat stress or something. PH imbalance. I dont remember. Anyways the two clones I did get, not only survived but made the original plant look like a scrawny little underfed bitch. the stem was about a half inch wide where it went into the soil (triple in size of the original).
