cloning question

I am new grower for medical use. Are some varieties harder to clone? I have tried to clone my white widow, and I have tried to follow the book carefully but so far none have rooted. I have used cloning gel. Any suggestions. I will apprecuate your help.

I believe your cloning medium (usually rockwool) needs to be soaked in a 1/4th strength nutrient solution and be pH'ed to 5.5. Your cloning chamber should have high humidity as well. Other then that I don't have any other answers for you.

Try this simple method, I use it all the time and my strain (Bubba O Kush) roots in 10 to 12 days average.

Get a 2 litre coke bottle or similar and cut the top off then wash thoroughly, Pour a layer of perlite about 2" deep in the bottom then add a little water and let it settle. Take your cuttings, small cuts root much faster, make a clean angle cut, dip into gel like clonex and push into a jiffy plug or root cube etc, whatever you use. Stand the cuts on the perlite then mist over lightly and seal with clingfilm. Leave them in a warm place and forget them for 5 days. Lift the film, and mist lightly again if they look as though they need it. After 10 days you will be able to gradually peel back the plastic, if they show any sign of wilting, recover them for another couple of days then they shopuld be good to go. You dont want the cubes/plugs sitting on the water, just sitting on the perlite which is slightly moist.

Simple but works 100% for me. if you're new to cloning why not give it a try? Thing is not to mess a round with them too much, leave them sealed up to raise humidity for at least 5 days before you start to open them up/mist etc. Succesful cloning is very rewarding, and ultimately very simple, key is to get a feel for the signs.

Good luck, hope this helps in some way!

DIY bubble cloner. Cheap, no cloning gel, just tap water - not necessary to pH it, no humidity dome. Roots in 7 - 10 days. Works for me everytime.

I get 100% success rate at cloning everytime hands down. To do this i have found to just keep it simple. 1St soak rockwool starter plugs in ph 5 water, 2nd take cuttings, 3rd strip outer layer from bottmom one inch of stem on one side(this is done by simply scraping stem with razor), 4th dip in Shultz coning powder and tap of excess, 5th shake out excess water from rockwool and insert cutting,6th place clones on heat mat under florescent lights. vwalla!!! roots in 5-7 days everytime. alot of people say you gotta be sterile,i never sterilize, people say you gotta have a humidity dome, i have one and get faster results without, people say you gotta use this majic $20 a jar clonig jell, i tried all of them, powder is best, it sticks and it doesnt wash away with waterings and it only cost $5. I think we all have been in your situation and tried all kinds of different ways/products for cloning but hands down this is the best way to do it

I am going to try your method. I think I had too much moisture before. I bought some perlite today and will let you know how I made out. Thanks for your suggestion
