Cloning question

So cloning from a clone does not change genetics or anything?
Clones do change genetics. Genetic variations can be stress related and as the plant grows it has subtle genetic mutations along it's life. So while clones are close to identical they are not totally identical and do genetically change over time and each clone starts it's journey and also it's deviation off the original plant.

Isnt the mother plant the strongest?
meaning if you replaced the motherplant with a clone
and made that clone ur new mother and kept doing that...

ud have some pretty shitty weed pretty soon would you not?

"pretty soon" is a vague length of time. I would say it would take at least 15-20 "clones of clones" to start diminishing the genes. I have seen this done with the Mendo Purple and the quality was still top notch.

I've been having some cloning problem as well. I've got mothers vegging and have just recently started to clone. I'm on my 2nd batch of 4 clones and only had a 50% success rate on the first batch. They took a long time too root as well; I noticed roots around 2 1/2 weeks in. My current batch of 4 has been rooting for a week and no sign of roots yet. Today the leaves were starting to yellow. I've read a lot about cloning and I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I get branches about 6" long, with multiple branches off it. I cut the bottom about 1/4" below a node at a 45 deg angle. I pull off the leaves at the bottom node, peeling the stem skin off from the node to the cut. I then dip this in water then into powder rooting hormone. I shake off excess and insert it into a rockwool cube that was pre-soaked in distilled water. I have wicks (for oil lamps) stuck in the cubes and in a reservoir of distilled water to keep the cubes wet. I then spray them down with water and put in a tent with 2 2' floros about 1" from the top of the tent. I keep the light on 18/6 and spray clones occasionally.

My only 2 guess are that the cubes are too wet from the wicking or that the wicked water isn't oxygenated enough since i don't have a bubbler in it.

Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong, or what I should try on my next batch?

Also, how long should it take for roots to grow out the bottom of a small rockwool cube?

Dude me and you are in the EXACT same boat. This is my first time growing. I've had my mothers vegging for about 40-50 days. I took clones from them 8 days ago. I'm using a rapid rooter tray, rapid rooter plugs, and a humidity dome. I've been spraying them with 6.0 ph water, have a heat mat under the tray and they are under a 175w mh light. Oh and I'm also using Root Tech gel. Yesterday I noticed the leaves starting to turn yellow. 3 clones have dies already, which I expected....but I took 20 clones so I expected it. I don't have a clue why the leaves are turning yellow. In the tray, I put a little extra water...I saw someone on youtube do it. At day 8 I still have no roots. I've heard that it usually takes anywhere from 8-15 days to visually see roots. I heard the leaves turn yellow because of nutrient deficiency? Can someone help me and this dude out and tell us what we're doing wrong?

I'm not sure, but I've found that when cloning too much water will turn them yellow. I water once, let them almost dry out, then remove the dome and water once more. By the time the second water dries up I have roots.

i dont know if this is correct but a friend of mine only ever sprays his plants never waters the soil as such they have no roots so cant drink from the stem so the absorb moisture through theyre leaves and he has a damn good sucess rate he just puts them in a propagator with 24/7 lights opening it each day for fresh air

I personally don't like taking up space with a mother plant. I just clone before I put them in flower. Period.
