Cloning Question

My plants are in the 2 week of flowering and i wanna try this cloning for the first time but i have a few questions..

i will be using a humidity dome, and also a rooting powder from home depot and ff soil.. anyways

1)My question is can i put the clones under my hps400w under 12/12 light?
2)Can i clone with out the dome?
3)Also I've never seen this but i was wondering can i take a razor and sorta trim the stem about 1/4 of an inch from the bottom to absorb more of the powder and water? (before dipped in water)

Yes, your clone will grow with an hps 400w under 12/12 light schedule but it will grow slow as hell. Considering your using and hps and then 12/12........You will also need to take your space into consideration as well as the heat emitted by your hps, because that determines weather or not the heating pad will be neccessary, if your light is giving off too much heat, skip the pad.
I doubt you can clone without a humidity dome. I've tried/experimented it and failed. Your clone will need to be as moist as possible to prevent from drying out and dying.
As for the razor trim....i've seen it done before with good results. However, pple have only stuck to cutting the clone at a 45degree angle, and removing the fan leaves.

ok cool, well ive already tried them all.. i even put one in about 2 inch of water to experiment.. so ill post results.. with all my different methods

I like to take my clones 2 - 3 weeks into flower, so there you go.

1) I put my clones under 2 X 23 watt CFL's 24 hours a day
2) You will need a dome. A dome and tray is about $10 at a hydro store and you need it as cutting like 95-100% humidity. And a sprayer to spray them. DO NOT let then sit in standing water.
3) That's just fine, some people scrap off a 1/2 inch or so.

Remember this is going to take a couple of weeks, be patient, use a dome, don't use a lot of light, get a spray bottle. Depending on the temperature in your area, you might want to use a heating pad under your tray (roots like the heat).

Good Luck :weed:

ok gold dog.. well heating will not be an issue.. but yea i do have my dome i was just wondering.. but i will use ur advice.. the reason im sitting one in just water is because i saw a thread where they usually sit them in just water and they rooted really well.. but did not kno the sprayer is needed will do thank +rep

The spray (foliar) feeding is to help them until they get roots and will keep them from wilting.
