1. Can you use a 600w hiv lamp raised for clones or is the light still to intence?

2. What is the biggest cutting you can take withought it being to big to root and suport itself?

3. Rockwool vs. Jiffy pucks/soil and why?

Thanks for any help :weed:

I wouldn't use a 600w for clones, I think it would be too much for 'em. I don't know how big they can go - I've seen them over six inches though, so anything that size or less you should be good with. Rockwool - I just keep hearing too many horror stories about it. The ph not being right, it stays too wet, I wouldn't use them. Go with either the Jiffy pellets or soil.

Agreed. The light will work fine as long as you can keep it far enough away(like 30"+). I use Jiffy pellets, and have had really good results with them. When the temps are high(85-90*) they root in like 6 days, and when the temps are lower(about 75*) they root in about 10 days. Soil works good too, if you take the time to do it right. I'm not going to go into that right now, 'cause i have to get going in a few minutes.LOL Never tried rockwool, so i can't say much about that. :)

bongsmilie...use an ezclone machine....No rooting hormones, no chemicals, no rebuying rapid rooters/ rockwool.

...I use straight tap water pH'd at 6.0 keeping temps around 70-75f.... 100% success rate. (roots in 7-10 days)

...the bigger the clone is (the more foliage/stem)...the longer it will take to start rooting.
