Hells no. What could go wrong? Im pro cloning Dinosaurs. They probably will or will use partial dna and build there own in the next 50 years. :P Yah Jurassic Park

No objections from me either! However, if they can play god we should be able to and create MJ when we please. :) ;)

Sure, why not? I'd love to see some huge, extinct animals. I'd buy a wooly mammoth jacket, and eat delicious wooly burgers...

It would be awesome to see one, but I do think its dangerous. WE can't even seem to keep the zoo animals from escaping. HOw are we going to keep a gaint like the
Wooly from escaping. Remember Jurassic Park.

Bringing back animals, bugs, birds that have LONG been extinct is a BAD IDEA. Smart people knew this before Jurassic Park was ever written (yes it was a book, first). Firstly, there are likely NO predators around now that were back then (except maybe man)and dwindling food and natural habitat resources. Now...if the creatures couldn't survive THEN what makes you think they will NOW? This ranks right up there with the morons who just created the world's most deadly Flu virus. The dinosuars and such may have been victims of nature, bad timing, meteor impacts...but HUMANS will destroy everything, including themselves. Idiocracy at it's best.

Oh I don't know. It would be nice to have a different kind of drive-through. Bet mammoths make awesome cheeseburgers. cn

to be fair no one is seriously considering trying to reintroduce the wooly mammoth if it were cloned. the first generations would of course be looked after extremely carefully by scientists and studied for what seems to be optimal conditions for them in captivity and if they could get that down maybe larger zoo's and other places could have a few as big time attractions. they cant be that much harder to keep than elephants. i know i would go see a wooly mammoth if i had the chance. people would almost be compelled to see one of these creatures we've heard and known about for most of our lives but told we would never get to see ever. I'd like the thylacine/tasmanian tiger to be the next species brought back. they could probably even be re-introduced to the wild in select areas. after that their are a bunch of tiger subspecies we've wiped out. i doubt they could survive in the wild, they would be cool to keep in captivity though for educational purposes and who knows, maybe someday in the distant future we will actually be able to release them into restored habitats.

No. The problems arrives when we start releasing recreated Cave Bears & Sabre-Toothed Cats to manage the ever-flourishing population of Mammoths... I like to think we would be capable of caring for once extinct animals & controlling the situation, although, we don't seem to be able to do such a thing with anything else, I guess.

I believe it was this prehistoric attitude to non-sustainable living for short-term gains (which has continued to the modern day) that might have caused the demise of the Woolly Mammoth. If we did over-hunt them, perhaps we should (that is, providing we can) bring them back to life.

What about cloning a caveman. encino man style.
That would be cool. Would they have 'Hominid' Rights? Haha

If it were something that was planned on being reintroduced into the world, even if not a dangerous flesh eating creature, I would say it was a mistake to reintroduce something that was intended to be extinct. The ramifications of it could be far worse than the loss of another species, that might have been sped up by man but would likely have become extinct anyway.

That being the case I would say there could be massive volumes of facts to be learned, but at this point in time when there is such a greater need for other types of research and funding, both governmental/taxpayer money and private is limited, why not lets things like cloning Wooly Mammoths wait a few years or a decade and funnel those resources to things of actual high priority?

Until the U.S., citizens included, realize, accept and then changes habits it doesn't stand a chance of ever getting out from under. It cannot keep doing everything that someone wants to do. Regardless of it being governmental/taxpayer funding or private contributions, there are far more important needs out there. Put some things on hold, don't worry if some other country beats the U.S. to cloning Wooly Mammoth. There won't be a dangerous Wooly Mammoth gap to worry about. (A little 60's era Cold War humor there.)

Shift the funding to research new clean safe renewable forms of energy, find a cure for cancer, fight world hunger and disease, pay a hit-man to whack Kim Kardashian so we never have to hear another word about her or see another pseudo-hot picture of her ever again.

Spend the money more wisely, on something that will give a real return for the dollar beyond that of a greater understanding of animals that died out about 10,000 years ago.

Since I am positive that the key to safe clean energy dependence or a cure to cancer will be found during an anal exam of a cloned Wooly Mammoth, as interesting as the project would be and even with the vast amount of information we would lean about the very distant past, I see it as a total waste of funding, regardless of where it would come from, that should be spent elsewhere.

So them being extremely careful is suppose to reassure me that things like wooly mammoths and deadly viruses and weapons that can lay entire countries to waste are okay for them to be fucking with.

I say no. Fuck that, I can't even legally consume any drug I want and risk destroying my own body, why do they get to fuck with shit that could literally destroy the world and the general public doesn't even get a say so in the matter.

Fuck this shit, when is the revolution, I'm tired of asking nicely. The pen is mightier than the sword, until I shove my sword up your ass and take your pen away from you, which my wife will probably lose because she's like that with pens.

If it's a blue ink pen, I'm keeping it for myself though.

Koreans are cloning pet dogs. For those who can't live with their lost of their pet and have 50K to throw away.

Clone me a new body with a whale penis and balls to match..lol.
