So it seems when every i take a cutting it seems to just die when i put it in soil what im i doing wrong its under a cfl and i cutt it at a 45 deg angle. place in party cup 40-50% hummity

you may be getting air bubbles in the bottom of the cut stem, try re-trimming them under water just before you dip them in rooting hormone. make sure that the soil you're using contains no nutes. a small rockwool cube would be better.

Make sure you use the rooting hormone! Careful not to over water (party cup might not allow drainage so is there a hole in the bottom). Mist them twice a day. I've had great success this way. I too had a lot of problems initially but found out I was over watering.

a small rockwool cube would be better.
I grow in soil too and I was having the exact same issue not too long ago.....switched to rockwool cubes (1-1.5") and have nothing but excellent results since....use a pencil to assist the clone in entering the cube to reduce stress (found this helps a lot).....

and hey, its a lot less messy than cloning in soil and a lot easier to transplant :)....good luck dude

Sometimes rooting hormone are a bunch of hype, too! But those rockwool cubes will definitely help.

EDIT Coco works well too
