Ok this damn Banana Kush just won pick up. Its on day 18 or so of flower, FFOF, temps are at 80 or below. Under a 150wHPS.

I havent been under or over watering, and i just started giving it nutes two days ago. Just simple Schultz African Violet Plus. I fed at 1/4 strength, the next day the pot was nearly dry again and nothing had changed in the plant. So i watered again with the same water. I just turned hte light on and nothing has changed. A few more wite haird have popped up but if anything more leaves are turning yellow.

That takes us to the problem:

All my leaves are losing color and turning light yellow. I cant stop it, ive alrerady cut off 4 fan leaves.

Im getting frustrated. Ill have picutures up in a few hours. Thanks guys.

i had the same problem 2nd week into flowering the hole plant turned yellow. it was root bound. i replanted the plant and found nutes with a little more N than P or K in it. i had new grouth in 24 hr. but i think it was more to do with the transplant than anything.

I had a awesome papaya turn a healthy yellow it was a trip it didnt look like anything was wrong with the texture or the health of the plant but i knew something was up.So i checked the nitrates and i was way too high.Changed out the reservoir and she bled green throughout the leaves and back to a awesome green.Just slowly healed up.Guess it went into lockout!!!!!!!

^^ its cheap junk that i had kyingaround. I am getting better nutes, maybe this week,

Usually i ddont have to water everyday but for some reason i did for two days. I did a bit of LSTing last night (well more like 5AM) and one of the branches is already startign to grow back up. So i guess its growing. I promise pics tonight!

u prolly gave it too many nutes too fast.. you should have just used plain water after the dose of nutes if u watered it the next day and so on

it started loosing color while in veg. I dont think waiting 3 weeks into flower to give nutes is a problem. Some people dont even use nutes at all.

The nutes i gave it were weak Schultz nutes. 8-14-9. The next day the soil was dry and nothing ad happened to the plant. So i said WTF and did it again, still, nothing bad has happened besides more white hairs and some trichs forming. I fed with 1/4 strength anyways.

The problem is the plant is and has been turning yellow. Nitrogen problem. I know its not root bound

no offense, but your post and info is contradicting here...if she was losing color in veg, why would u assume waiting a month later is not an issue? that makes no sense. if she has always had nitrogen issues, and you wont feed her, what am I missing? although some can grow without ADDED nutes, no one can grow WITHOUT nutes. meaning they either had nutes in their soil or are fibbing.

I never had any nutes to use. I didnt realize what i had lying around till last week, and i had already watered so i had to wait an extra few days. I meant people have grown without added nutes, yes. My bad

Its in FFOF and i was assured that it had the nutes in it to keep it going until i can get any nutes to add.

Iv'e had bad luck with FFOF, first it burnt my seedling, then 1 of my clones got burnt up and died and the two i have now are just turning yellow and stunted. My "mentor" thinks they made one of their batches a little hott, and I can agree with him. (just for added assurence, he plants seeds directly in the soil and never has a problem. This past run, he had 30 seedlings burn from the FFOF. Mind you he is a fully licensed caregiver so he knows what hes doing)

edit: also in my post above yours, i meant to say that nothing bad has happened concerning the extra watering w/nutes. The yellowing problem still lies ahead.

African violets like acidic soil, so I'm gonna take a wild guess and say besides the overwatering....(color loss), you are feeding them a fert. designed to acidify the soil. No no no....

Ur better off putting coffee grounds on them....

Yes, and if you push the plant past it's PH comfort zone You can give it all the nutes you want, it won't be able to absorb them. Like alkaline water to a horse, you can lead him to it, but you can't make him drink it.

Flush your soil with distilled water and then give it some quality nutes.

Good luck

Ok guys the lights just went on but of course the fkn camera breaks. Not too much to say, the yellow leaves are still yellow, soil is moist, trichomes all over. More than last night. Thing is looking great minus the yellowing. Maybe I can take good camera phone pics.

Don't give up just because of this one problem i'll bet the major part of roll it up think of giveig up at one point but it's a learning curve. And you will find a strain that suites you and you get to know all the problems and cures.Good luck in what ever your decision is but it will be hard on your pocket.

Ok guys. Its day 21 of 12/12. Shes producing more budsites and trichomes. Fan leaves are still yellowing and tonight (Tuesday) im going to be feeding it some quality nutes. Not sure which ones yet but not Schultz. Also going to be throwin in 4 Serious Chronic seedlings in veg.

Anyways, temps are staying at 74-75 degrees now so i think that helps. Here are some picturers i just took. Dont make fun of my rushed little LST work hehe
