Hey guys, It's been a while since I've posted but thats because I don't have any real updates. My girls haven't grown hardly at all in the last 10 days. I know that they are severely stunted but i don't know why. They are more than 2 weeks from seed.

A little info:

My grow room stays between 78-85 degrees. RH is about 42%. Im using spring water to water my girls every other day (was only watering every couple of days but my soil was drying out pretty quick so I changed it. My soil is 75% jungle growth and 25% perlite. The jungle growth had ferts .25-.12-.12.

Can you guys help me figure out what is wrong with them? I just planted my new girl 2 days ago and she is doing great. I don't want her to succumb to whatever is going wrong with my other 2.

Thanks for any help. rep++ for any advice (if I can rep ya, that is)

Hey rentjr your burnning them up in that soil you should use organic soil with very low nutes so you can control the amount they need. With your soil every time you water you induce nutes with no down time (straight water)everyother time.I suggest you use some ph down get a meter and start flushing the soil till the ph level is back to growth levels about five and a half and six.Good Luck Bro I feel for you.

I know you are subscribed to my grow and my soil is M.G.Organic and I just use a 1/8 of a teaspoon of nutes for my plant everyother time.Purified water with superthrive on the other days along with bloom vitamins.

Peace out,

Thanks zoso and shack, Im going to flush them when I get home. Im also going to leave the door open for a while and start supplementing CO2. If my ph is between 7.5 and 8, what should my water ph be when I flush them? Thanks for the help guys. Oh yeah, someone posted in plant help that I should put baggies over them for a while to create a greenhouse effect. What do you guys think about that? how long would I leave the bags on for? don't they need fresh air? rep++ :)

hey rent, looks like someone already nailed the burning problem so flush it with water @ about 6 - 6.5 in ph maybe closer to 6. as for the green house effect that has helped me in the past with my pc grow if help bring my kids back to life. you put the baggy over your plant and rubber band or whatever around the bottom to the pot. basically creating a humidity dome at which you can crack to break every few hours. it worked for me but maybe see what someone else has to say as well.

Hey bro! sorry to hear your still having trouble, the advise given i would follow. Im using a mix of Schultz soil and organic peat moss, things seem to be developing well, i topped the girls the other day due to hight restrictions, you will have to deal with that too keep it in mind bro!

To help you out i would go with that baggie idea, i was having problems similar and someone mentioned a "heat dome", crack it every 3-5 hours maybe?? giving the plant some fresh air for a few minutes.
Do you have fans installed? Intake Exhaust? How old are your girls, im going to post a pic of mine when they were about 12-15 days and lets compare! it might not be as bad as you think

The pic below is from nov 6. making them 12-13 days old.
The lil one has Grown so much since then, she was 1/3 of what the other girls were, and now she has almost caught up!
Keep the updates coming bro ! goodwork so far.

yeah, so Im the crappiest grower EVER! My new girl is starting to look like the others. The other 2 have shown a little growth but at three weeks old they still only have 1 node. I hate to give up but it looks like that may be the only option. I'm not giving up completely though, Im going to get some soil with NO NUTES and also cut a hole for an intake fan. I dont want to cut a hole but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do :) So now Im asking you guys if you can recommend a good soil with no nutes? I dont care what it costs but I need to be able to pick it up at Lowes or Home Depot. The nearest hydro store is 1 1/2 hours away, if need be I will mix my own soil/soiless mixture.

Please guys, any advice on what to get for a good soil grow. I know there are threads but I'm wondering for real what you guys are having success with.

I know Im new to this and my first showing has been abysmal but I'm determined to grow something. Please don't assume that newbies are incompetent, we just need a nudge in the right direction. I've learned, for instance, that im not ready for soil with nutes.

@dopewear, I looked online for for the soil you used but couldn't find it.

Thanks for all your help guys.

Im gonna keep these girls for another couple of days and if they don't get better by then, well...

Sorry rntjr that sucks, i own a growlight shop, and have been growing for 15 years, and yes you can grow with the twist type CFL, but i would seriously recommend a 6 lamp T5 fixture, we're having a sale on them right now normally they are $299.99 but right now they are $199.99 its a great price, and trust me they put out more light than all the CFL's your running now and use about 258watts. you can go to my website and watch a video of one running, sorry i cant post pics of plants, we're a business in the states, but a can asure you they grow nice plants fast. link www.supernovagrowlights.com to help you out a lil bit more i can take another 5% the price of the whole fixture just enter "supernova" in to the coupon field at the end of check out.
way to read the whole thread. spammer.

about your soil.. are you planning to transplant your stunted girls out of the current soil?

if you start with new seeds, i would advise you to start with jiffy/peat pellets or a rapid rooter of some kind. give the girls a chance to get their 2nd and possibly 3rd leaf set started then go into whatever soil you are using presently.

hmm... soil recommends... anything at lowes or home depot is going to be nute-ified new word.. you dig it? i hear some people use the MG potting soil (with success) just be sure you pH the water properly first.

it would REALLY be worth your time to drive out to the grow shop and pick up good soil. if you're truly serious about growing your own buds, start with good soil designed for growing healthy plants, not the crap that the big box retailers offer.

if you're really worried about nutrients in the soil, start with Fox Farms Light Warrior, this stuff is pretty damn bland. Makes its great for seed starting. Next level up is going to be Happy Frog, its VAGUELY more potent than the Light Warrior, yet most growers (i've read) make it through veg without adding nutrients. Only dosing in nutrients during bloom. The strongest of their soils is going to be Ocean Forest. This stuff is pretty damn well fortified, yet most growers have no trouble with a seedling (started in a rooter of some kind), because it pH balanced for growing "anything", guaranteed. (as are ALL of their soils, pH balanced)

Long story short, just cave, drive to the grow shop and grab a bag of Happy Frog, and be off to a good start. For more info just google "fox farms soil" and check out their website.

Hope this is the help you were looking for. Good luck to you my friend.

Thanks for the info Shack. I think Im going to use some jiffy pellets. Do I just put the seed right into the pellet or do I germinate first? Im gonna call ahead to the hydro shop and see what they have. I found them when I was looking for a local place to buy floranova nutes. I dont really know how to use jiffy pellets but Im sure it cant be that tough to figure out :) I think the ph may have also been an issue so I really do want to try a fox farms soil.

Thanks for all your help.

jiffy pellets are so easy dude soak them in a good ph water, let them expand all the way then shake out the excess. super easy. i germinate then put into the pellet so i dont stare at the pellet wondering if its een cracked haha. jiffy pellets can be picked up at lowes and HD aswell. cheers :D

Do you think that if I start out in a jiffy pellet, that my soil will be okay? The nutes should be fine after the seedling has been in the jiffy pellet for a couple of weeks right?

i was thinking the same thing!! maybe pick up a Soil pH tester from Lowe's so you know how to balance your water before watering the plant. The one I've seen at Lowe's cost like 10 bucks (hoping to get one in my stocking this year lmao)

The pellets will give the roots/plant a chance to get itself ready then once it goes to the soil (and watered properly!) it should be able to handle (most) anything you throw at it.

BTW I'm lazy and don't feel like checking back, what soil are you using? Scott's something or other right?
