Closet Grow: Humidty too High!!!

Ok, I have a closet grow going right now. I'd say the closet is 4X6X8 ft. I'm running six 40 watt cool flouros and a 600 watt HPS. I have three fans going in the room right now. Right now there are 15 plants about 2.5 feet tall and they are 5 days into the flowering cycle (12/12).

There is one problem...the humidity is through the roof. The humidity gets as high as 88%. I put two small containers of DampRid (basically calcium chloride) eight hours ago and it has pulled the humidity down to 83%. I was wondering if I were to buy calcium chloride in a bigger quantity do you think it would bring down the humidity enough? I really would like to avoid buying a dehumidifier. One b/c they are fairly expensive and two, I think it would raise the temperature in my closet too much.

Any advice on how to lower the humidity would be greatly appreciated, thanks. I would really like to fix this problem before I get too far into the flowering cycle.

How much Damp Rid did you go through? I've heard that you can buy bulk quantities of calcium chloride and hang them in bags with holes and have the water drip into a bucket. Does anybody know if this works effectively?

Also, how much of an increase in temperature did you see with the dehumidifier?

i just used a couple of small containers but within a week i added a dehumidifier. tried mostly to just run it at lights out. i still ran with lights on but had to adjust it so it wouldnt run as much, and still prevent mold.
as far as how much higher in temp. that just differs from day to day with how hot and humid it is. my passive intake gets air from outside so it is real hard to keep humidity stable. but i would say it raised temps 10 deg. F average.

Hmmm. Well I guess I am going to have to break down and buy a dehumidifier. Although a 10 degree increase in temperature worries me. Oh well, it's better than losing all my bud to mold, right?

ive got one that i paid $140.00 for its adjustable but i ended up putting it in the basement and took the one from down there it was like $350.00 and has a digital temp. and humity level. sweet. i adjust it for a lower humidity level at lights out and then when lights come back on i raise the level up higher so it doesnt run as much when light is on

Yeah, I found one in the local paper for $50 a second ago and I'm going to pick it up tmr! So hopefully it'll work well enough to lower my humidity. Although I doubt it will have as many adjustments as yours haha.

I had to get a dehumidifier, same deal, If i had more money a/c would have been the way to go. with my hi temps, ive been running co2 in my sealed closet, I have to be careful and keep it under 90. The buds are almost 8 wks of flowering, they are getting so fat they can barely hold themselves up. I also run a 600 hid plus some 65 watt flouro s (4)and some t5s.
I cant run all of the floros at the same time.
This cost a lot more than I thought it would, now i need the a/c to replace the dehumidifier, once we are done it will be great:bigjoint:
