CO2 advice

Hey guys,
so I want to step up my game next grow.

im going from a 1.2m x1.2m x 7 tent to a 1.5m x 1.5m, and 400w hps to a 600w hps + led side lighting.

this grow will be during the hottest part of the year for me, and I've struggled with temp problems same time last year.

my solution was to buy an ac, but then I got thinking about going with the high temps and introduce a bottle of co2.

I have done a fair amount of research and understand what I need, and how to run it etc.

Im just trying to work out what bottle size I should get.

How long (turning off in dark period) will a 9.2l bottle last?

if anyone can help, that would be great.

I wouldnt start injecting co2 if i were you unless you have your grow dialed in PERFECT. the co2 can do more harm than good.If there is anything at all wrong with your plants or your grow enviro. The co2 will make it like 4 times worse five times faster.
Get your humidity set and under control.Your temps must be set and under control,Every nutritional aspect of your plant must be on the money.
Once everything is set then you can start co2 injection.
Do you have a/c in your home right now? If so and it is forced air you can rob some air from it.A 6" inch duct run will about cool a 600 watt bulb.(no glass in the hood)
Some guys use those little portable a/c units that pipe out through a window or crawl space.They are not real expensive but a investment never the less.

just get the co2 and go on w/life.You will figure it out.Afterall isn't that what its all about.Heat won't be an issue w/ a bottleGo,go time is wasting

Co2 is one way of dealing with the heat but unless everything else is bang on you will be fighting other issues next summer. Like everyone else has said get the system working correctly first. These girls will take a lot of heat, I know rooms that run 85-90 with little issues. What temps are you running during the summer? JAS

my room is 75 degrees 80 at its hottest ever.C02 works fine for me.....fwiw

i feel I have my grow dialled in, my current and last grows have been problem free.

I do have a good a/c at home, but I can't run a duct from it as the wife will go berko.

i was going to get an a/c for my tent, but then I thought I could go the co2 route.

thanks again guys, I'll continue my research. I still have a few weeks left on my current grow, before I make a decision.

you might as well just get a 20lb tank from the hydro store its 100 deposit for the tank and only 15-20 bucks to get it filled. it will defiantly be worth the money!

U can avoid the co2 in ur tent by upping your exhaust. Suck out all the stale air every minute and it will b replaced with co2 rich air every minute. Exhaust straight outside.

If u inject co2 and exhaust u are wasting money.

Btw co2 helps plants deal with hot conditions. After installing co2 in the greenhouse the ladies thrived in temps over 95!!!

Do you have any stats on grows without C02 to compare to these grows with? I would be intrested in knowing the difference. JAS

I have 10 plus years of doing it w/o Co2.Now I have a few years w/co2.No books,I only have had internet for a year or so.I do know w/o a doubt co2 helps and you do not need high temps and a "perfect" room to benefit.I have been w/o fancy controllers for the first couple years.I had to do everything a controller does myself.Not to hard but its time consuming.More like a full time job.After battling spider mites I prefer to keep my room cooler then the norm.8 months outta the year its usually well below zero (f) here.Nice buds,1/2 joint will crush 2 people,decent yields,no mites,thats dialed in enough for me

CO2 works best at 80-85 degrees and when the lights are on. Have you ever consider CO2 bags?

The bags are no good

the bags are supplemental but cannot be relied on to hit your ppm mark. Bags cannot be read on a meter. Help yield but don't max yield.

co2 is a beautiful thing in a tent grow....get the tank not the generator. u will have less heat. u need to have somewhat higher temps w/ co2. theoretically u can hav e a closed system w/ co2 because the o2 the plants produce will be enriched each day the tanks are putting out co2. so no new air is necessary. u need a monitor of course to measure ppm. hope that helps

I have run CO2 in my grow rooms using controllers and have seen many benefits but I usually run my rooms at 1250- 1500 ppm and between 80-82 degrees and never above 85 depending on the strain.

as mentioned, you don't need perfection to benefit from co2. you also don't necessarily need a controller/monitor. but, they can really make the whole process easier/more cost effective. i only use a regulator and a repeat cycle timer.
