Co2- Pointless???

Well I have recently been told that Co2 is pointless- reason being is that a plant only takes in what it needs- nothing more..

So.... Im lost on this one.. I use Co2- and personally, I think that it is helping.. but maybe its just because I didnt have the amount needed B4...???

So.... did people start using this method to basically meet the Co2 requirements for a plant or is it used to BOOST Co2 levels??

If its is used to boost levels over the required amount, is it actually taking in the extra Co2 or is it just not necessary???

i just read my normal co2 levels with out any thing added,it is 746 ppm.i imagine that is because it is close to the pilot light for water tank and furnace, when the furnace is fired up it is at a 1000,i cant see co2 helping my situation.i would have to close up the room and have a filter inside cleaning the air and one exausting the air every hour,so with all these added costs,i find that it probably wouldnt be benificial.

would co2 benefit a small cabinet where the air supply is refreshed twice a minute?

of course the vent fans would have to be shut off during co2 injection...
