co2 regulator questions

You need to keep temps around 70 those temps are going to be way too high at 90+ they may burn dude!

the temps are not my question, the use of the regulator is.
i've got 4 plants in the closet and no signs of temp stress. just big fat juicy buds. i want bigger and juicer.

last winter i came across a nitrogen cylinder about 18" tall and 4" diameter for 10 bucks, today i call the local welding supply and he said he would exchange it for a co2 bottle the same size for $15. i get there and he tells me he had just ran out, but for an extra 20 he could put me in a larger tank. i give him the money and he rolls this tank out that is about 3' tall and about 18" diameter. i had my caddy low ridin on the way back home. what a score.
i still want to hear from folks that are fimilar with this regulator.

thanks kevin

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400048374724 you want to get one of these too, plug this into your 12/12 timer and set it to gas the plants for 30 seconds every hour,.. you really stretch out your tank that way,... if the tank he gave you was 20 lbs youre going to use it all every three weeks or less,.... im of the opinion that a little gas over a longer period of time is better than gassing the fuck out of em for a short while then you run out and cant get to the welding shop or have to wait till payday, or whatever, just my 2cents,.... whatever you get dont get a hydrofarm reg. they leak all the gas out,... you'd be better off to buy an expensive regulator up front than to gat a cheap one and it leaks or does not regulate good, youll save the money back in gas over the long haul

hey hat trick steve, that is what i was thinking, a timer for when lights are on. i know once i have the regulator and instructions in my hands it will make sense. i'm ready to get this closet working to it's full potential. the last grow i got 7 ounces of some of the dankest papaya off 2 plants in a closet half the size with just a 400. i've got 4 northern lights, 4 hindu kush, and 2 more papaya seedlings vegging outside. right now i have 2 blue mystics and 2 bagseed in there flowering. the mystic has been flowering for nearly a month. under the 400. they are just under the 1000 watt now. got a reflector on the way too. i'll get some pics up later.

thanks kevin

mmmm vewry intrwesting,.. well for me its 10 bucks cheaper cuz they charge shipping and the one on ebay is free ship,... but 10 bucks is 10 bucks

now you understand that the timer that comes with a regulator is not this type its a conventional 24 hour timer like they use for lamps and shit,... what i am suggesting is to use 2 timers in series,.. the cap timer is plugged into the 12/12 timer and only gasses the plants ,say 30 seconds every 5 min,... and also you dont want to gas directly into the plant area if you are venting hot air with a fan,... you want to gas the area where the exaust fan is pulling air in from,... in my case its the crawlspace under the house, so my co2 is injected under the house and then my fans are pulling it up through the floor, which lowers the ppm but extends the time plants have enriched air passing through the grow area

hey steve, i'll have the regulator in my hand tuesday and i will be ordering the cap timer in the morning. my room is completly sealed so i was thinking to hang a tube with holes in it at the top of the closet and let the gas fall down to the plants.
thanks kevin

this thing was so simple, and i can tell a difference in the plants in just 4 days!!

thats what i did punched a few holes with a razor in 1/8th inch tubing with a t connecter and draped it over the light fixture (6 in easy cool with air cooled 600 hps) the closet its a little smaller though. i dont have a ppm meter in there and i run it at 2 psi( i think im not sure if it is the top middle or bottom of the ball) 4 min at the top of every hour with the lights on. the tank lasted me almost 34 days. not bad to refill though 23 bucks at the local welding supply place.i have read the inst. and didnt find how to read the damn thing so it might be at 1 psi. any info would be great

you need to dorp out that 400 its overkill trust me i did 2000w in a 5x5. as far the reg goes its a good regulator thier all the same almost (slightly differing design and shape) the only downside i had with these regs is the air comes out so fast it frosts the reg and can make it brittle i had one break in half on me scarey experience, but it was my fault i was playing around with it adn dropped while it was frosted.

I have two regulator kits appearing identical to the one pictured above.

The directions state to put the outlet hose behind a circulation fan up high in the room, so that the CO2 gas gets dispersed and being heavier than "air", will sink down to UR veggies...

Now my memory isn't that good (and it's acutely fooked from spraying several cans of spray glue trying to finish up my little bloom room last night) but... About 15 years ago I had a regulator kit, and it seemed that it's discharge hose was perforated, maybe 1/16" = 1.5mm holes along the length, spaced every 6"/150mm or so?

It doesn't seem like too much trouble to poke those holes, and then hang that hose over the plants in an "0-" layout. I'll snag a couple vacuum line Tees at the the auto parts house today, and test this out.

nah just keep the line sealed and run it around somthing warm and put its end behind or in front of an osculating fan. this will get you the best dispersion
