Co2 Times 2

OK, reading about Co2, I have noticed that people are using several Rigged or cheap delivery systems. Im the McGuyver type so I was wondering. They Sell these little Co2 chargers for seltzer water, pellet guns, etc...

What is the cost of: Buying the stuff and doing the labor of the yeast method verses say

Taking these cannisters and (excerpt from a Grateful Dead concert and we were sucking on No2 Dental grade)

Filling a "rubber balloon" by expelling the contents of a cartridge, placing 1 or more pin holes in the balloon, pointing the balloons holes towards your foliage.

Now I realize that this is for 1-6 plants and the balloon will only last about an hour depending on the amount of holes and is by no means for a major crop but it is very economical because both the balloon and the despenser are cheap and replaceable, the cartridges cost about 50 cents to a buck a piece and adding one to a floro grow might just enhace the returns.

EVERYBODY OPINIONS?

i burn a kerosene lamp a couple of hours a day ...the plants perk up shortly after the lamp is on.

you can buy a regulator and large co2 cannisters and then flood the room a few times a day. I have the gear, but no experience using it yet.

equipment runs 350 to buy the tank and the regulator. tank refills cost $20 or so and should last about a month for a 20# cylinder.

AGAIN, THIS IS NOT PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.

So it really depends on what your needs are. Most interiors have enough CO2 for plants anyhow. But if you want optimal growth, have paid for good seeds, brilliant lighting and nutes, then it's probably worth it.

Also, from what I understand it can be hard to control when you're new because it can cause such fast growth that you'll make mistakes.

to maintain 1500 ppm (optimal) co2 concentration, i use a tank every 4 days or so but i fill 125 feet sqaure at 8ft height. shit thogh the rest was right on penguin. and this my daily experience.

i reccomend a co2 tank to anyone and everyone with an indoor setup soo nice and it help with heat compensation (ie. you can deal with higher growroom temps without slowing growth or strssing -along with a healthy diet)

um beginners beware any changes can fuck you up because you need to research the variables involved with growth.

tip make suddel changes whenadjusting your setup SO BE EASY PPL

Mr I Can Do That For Half
To get the needed amount of co2 from the cartridges in the correct amount of time release.Youd pretty much have the co2 system cost equaled in a month or 2 so why waste the time and effort if you wanna do that just buy a used tank on ebay for $35 a used regulator someplace and set it up on a 3 dollar tmer??Thats my thoughts on it anyway

so how do you control your dispersal? I bought the kit that attaches to the back of the fan. I'm supposed to run it and the fan for 3 minutes every hour that I have light on for the space I've got. And from what I understand you want to shut off your squirrel cage during that time and probably a little bit beyond. Is that what you're doing or are you using a sophisticated co2 sensor set up?

OK Pengui you wonderful thread jacker. You win this round muhahahahaha. Any way... I was refering to a 1 X 1 X 1 area with 1 plant 100 bucks on a single plant is not cost effective. Im talking CHEAP set up for those who were wondering. Rubber Baloon=.99 Cents 20 / Co2 Cartridges $10.00-$20.00, Cartridge cracker / baloon adapter = $5.00 TOTAL=$26.00 Total... Even do one cartridge every other day prolly get you through the vege stage. AT LEAST

sorry bro. I've tried to get that question answered before and no one bit.

I think the crackers might work for you. Even cheaper than that is to mist with club soda or some other carbonated water solution.

OK so has no one ever did No2 From a balloon theres this aluminum cylinder little bigger than a roll of quarters, you attach a baloon (rubber) to the end insert the No2 cartridge and twist till the pin opens the seal then the balloon fills with No2 remove the baloon and suck the gas. Laughing gas. Wheee.

OK Replace No2 with Co2 same balloon pin hole allows co2 to disperse slowly (ta da) of course you could use some type of rubber stopper on the baloon and a needle through it would prolly release enough at a slow rate.

Hey, if the $100.00 is not cost effective in your opinion, try dry ice, 50 lbs for about $15.00, should last a week, and you'll defenitely notice results.
I like the co2boost.

Dude its a bucket, with a fish pump and the ingredients are probably the same chemicals used in the 1 liter bottles. CO2 Boost - All-natural CO2 Generators for the purpose of CO2 enrichment and air fertilzation But I guess that would aleviate having to stir.. OK Fish Pump 25, Bucket 1, water (tap?), what are the ingredients, Yeast and Sugar and H2o, cheap enough. Might be even cheaper than my method. HMMMMMM REsearch time.

There is nothing wrong with using cheaper equipment, as long as you have modified that cheaper equipment to work as well as the expensive stuff ;)
