So is there a limit on how much light you want the plants to have? reflecting the light off the walls sounds good but i wanna know before I go using up all the foil in my house. Is it 'the more the merrier (as long as the temp stays low)'?

(im a noob - in 4th week of first grow)

i'm no expert; i heard it's bad to use foil cause it can create heat spots on the plants. I don't know if that's true or not, but i use foil. i use it all over the walls and floor and have never had a foil-related problem. plus it's cheap as chips.

and i like teatree's dancing, it was very shiny.

Oh, BTW, if you compare the brightness in my little foil dance gif(all images were kept raw, unaltered), the reflected light off the regular aluminum foil is always at or above 97%(peak intensity) compared to bulb's own brightness. In certain instances it's brighter than the bulb due to the flanges reflecting addition light onto the back plane, and then to the camera. The foil was attached to the wood backing with Elmer's AP glue and a soft clothe to get it wrinkle-free and bubble-free. It pretty much looks like sheet aluminum.

I can conclusively state that aluminum foil is an excellent reflector from my own experiments with it. Which agrees with the hordes of scientists(my references include PhDs in their fields) that also conclusively state this.

I've also never had any issues with foil causing light burns to my plants.

Quod erat demonstrandum(QED) aka which was to be demonstrated.
