well in all fairness your smds are more like jumbo COBs

the disadvantage of SMDs are the obvious labor involved in assembling a bunch of discrete diodes. you solved that with an affordable assembly

both are really really efficient when driven at insanely low currents, and i think your boards prob win on heat dissipation alone on the low low side

Gen 6 Vero 29 4000K in Canada for $37. At higher amperage they are fairly efficient but also grow weed just as well as CXB's.

Where do you find such prices for Vero in Canada? So far I was only able to find cob led chips at digikey.

Still, for DIY lights, SMD's aren't very practical. Unless you buy pre-made modules which effectively is similar to using COBs.
