Coco mat and coco cubes (Sorry can't change the title)

Anyone using these items in a grow.
I just switched over to a perpetual flood system and am using coco.
I see a lot of people using the ground up coco but not to much with just the mats.
Any input or advise would be cool, everything looks good though so I'm not too worried.
I have the ppm's and ph under control and the plants look happy. Here are some pics. JR

Wow no love for the mat, sorry I miss spelled it in the title, it's really not cock mat.

I am diggin the stuff, my roots are super white but I still think it needs more water.
I did see on a 4 inch coco cube that I have that is 3 of 25 that is wrapped in plastic from coco tek that says to water 15 minutes every hour. That seems like a lot.
I need my brain to show up and utilize the recycle timer. Yeah but 5 minutes every 20 minutes still seems like way too much.

Is there any reason most of the coco growers on this board use the ground up stuff?
Just wondering, it seems too close to dirt for me. Any way, any feed back would be cool. JR

looks good man..i dont like the mats cause you cant move the plants around or rotate them. i like the ground up coco because it hold water longer..if its real airy stuff ( the cubes & mat) then i whould think you whould have to water more often IMO.

Yeah i just found some General Hydroponics Coco cubes (Coco Tek) that say on the plastic wrapper to feed for 15 minutes every hour. What do your guys think? JR

Well one day of watering every 20 minutes and they look a lot happier. More perky, I also got the a/c running more at the temp I want right now, and a little CO2 never hurt anything. but after one day they look good, not that they looked that bad, they just look happy now..JR
