Coco and humidity. Help me out please.

See people saying not to let coco dry. I’m still learning but I’ve been letting the top of my coco pots appear dry before watering again. If it’s feeding day but my coco isn’t dry I wait until the next day. Should I be feeding when wet anyways? I thought it might cause root rot

Coco should never dry ideally, keep wet but water when pots start to feel lighter.

Thanks Dave...that may be true, depending on how the wall is built. My room was built for high humidity with a vapor barrier directly behind the sheetrock, whereas an interior wall would have no vapor barrier...thus allowing more free movement of moisture.

Ahhh, interesting.

I’m in San Diego, our average temps are 65, and average humidity is 55. I don’t think we need vapor barriers in construction.

Hi Dave,
I lived in La Mesa for 20 years so am familiar with the climate. Vapor barriers are standard construction technique and are probably specified in most building codes. Imagine a cool evening and a bathroom wall with no vapor barrier. Humidity would pass through drywall and hit the cool air and condense inside the wall...causing rot and mold.

Ya building codes for cheap ass construction and peeps who dont yet have whole house climate control.

I hear a lot of bitching on this board... except for the wealthy :-)
