Alrite guys just wondering if anybody has any experience with mixing layers of coco with clay pebbles and insterting an airstone in the bottom of the pot connected to an air pump, a feeding system is inconvenient for me asnow. So is this worth doing ? Should i just use coco nutes seeming as they wont be recirculated ? Is the pros worth the hassle compared to just usibg coco?
Im thinking that the more voids with air in them the better.
Clay pebbles alone would require too much hand watering so anybody got any info regarding this it would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Just run the coco. It's got plenty of air, and is pretty hard to overwater unless the pot is sitting in a dish, and is unable to fully drain.

People use coco in flood drain setups flooding a few times a day...

So your saying is that you wanna put an air stone in the middle of your soilless mix? I've never heard of such a thing before, idk, give it a try and let us know how it works. :bigjoint:

Thanks for the replies guys, ye plan on inserting the airstone in the bottom followed by a layer of pebbles, then a layer of coco, then a main middle layer of pebbles, then a layer of coco and finally a small layer pebbles on the top just to help with algea growth . The clay pebbles are not so much for drainage but for a bit of extra air they will help the air thats being released through the air pump penetrate the entire pot, in theory lol.
I would probably have a mix of around 65/35 clay to coco.
I will try half my crop with the airstone and pump and half without and will let you guys know how i got on.
I have just germinated 5 super lemon haze, 1 cheese from greenhouse and 1 white skunk from white label.
The white skunk I will strip just to leave a few main colas on it hopefully producing massive buds, the cheese i will prob do a bit of low stress training when young and then realese the plant encouraging more top colas and then strip and then the super lemon haze hopefully the more sativa phenotype will just be left to grow the wonderful way that it does.
Thats my plans any way i will upload some pictures throughout the grow.
Thanks peace

why dont you just DWC? and then use that mix up in the net pot and put the air stone in the rez. you will already be running the air pump all you will need is a PPM and PH meter, can pick up both for under 80 bucks and your gtg. go with hannah instruments meters as they are (from what i have heard on numerous occasions) verry customer friendly
