I bought some mother earth coco from Amazon and re-hydrated some of it for seedlings. I noticed on day one that it didn't smell like the coco I've used in the past but then again it's been a few years; it has a off weird smell...maybe almost like formaldehyde. Is this due to them washing it in something, are we suppose to wash before using as I never did that in the past? Anyways, I put the seeds in small cups with this coco and they have germinated but it's actually got a little strong with the smell. Anybody else experienced this?
