COCO COIR POT 3 GAL Question

Perlite is only in the top layer, there is none in the bottom two thirds of the pot i put a layer on the top of some of the coco that seemed to dry quicker than others. how often do you water? Or say how often would you water at 20 percent runoff in my sitiuation? My real dilemma is i dont know if i should pot up to 5 gal or add coco to the top, would the roots grow up into the top layer of coco or just continue to get root bound on the bottom?

Read what u said here again u put a layer of perlite in the part of the pot that looked like it dried quicker than others .. the pot was supposed to me drying that way in stages first the top then the middle then in between middle and bottom at this point u water before the bottom is completely dry but also not until 3/4 of the pot has dried and Last quarter is 50 to 75 percent dry ... I use the weight tecinque and I also have 3 access holes in my pot to stick a moisture meter into so I can time correct watering technique

I prefer my plants to be root bound in coco... You can feed them daily or more and they explode. I grow in 2 gallon pots with great results.
