Just switching over to coco Drain to waste. New nutrients cutting edge designed for drain to waste system we will see how toys goes 75% coco 25% super soil for buffering I hope.

This is my first coco grow. I'm using royal gold tupur.
I started with 3 freebies seeds.
One plant was male.
Now I've got two 3 gal bags & two 1 gal bags. The 1 gal bags were topped, cloned, replanted into the 3 gal.
Following "light" feeding schedule from canna.com, only using a&b, rhizotonic, and cannazym.
Watering once a day with about a gallon of runoff total. Using a digital timer running a pump connected to watering manifold with diy rings (made from sprinkler line) inside a 18 gallon tote. Also have two airstones bubbling 24/7.
I mix new nutes every 3 days - I never fill my res completely.
I vegged longer than expected, waiting for last chop! These 4 girls now fill my 4x4 area and are pressing against the walls! I let them grow natural, for the most part and will be learning some training for the next round. I've found a new way of growing!

What organic matter would one add to a 20% perlite/ coco bag mix to make it more like tupur?. Maybe it will offer the breading ground for a more diverse colony or a enhanced myko colony?.

If you go with bagged coco like botanicare add plenty of perlite for aeration and drainage because if not it creates the perfect environment for Fungus gnats

Could be variance in different brands but with botanicare even light perlite, it doesn't drain and fungus gnats became an issue

Its got aged forest peat or something like that in it. Never tried it, not available in my country.

Do you mean 2000w equivalent or 2000 actual watts because that makes a big difference. also veg time plays a part I would try to veg for atleast 45 days and even with only half that 2000 being actual watts I see no reason why in coco you cant get close to a pound I can constantly get no lower then 2.5 oz plants and this was at 75-80f.
I always fim atleast once and pinch a few branches with indica varietys I have also topped and pinched a few branches with the lemon skunk trainwreck cross and it does help with the yields and also keeps the height down.
One thing to watch out for is salt buildup with coco I use a 50/50 blend but after a few waterings with the nutes I have the ppms can get pretty high if you are not careful and could stunt the plants I stopped nuting every time I water of this now I do 2 times nute one time just plain ph water. My ppm of the run off I noticed was in the 2000 range during the first month of veg so actually cut my nute dosage down per gallon if you are in flowering I would not worry as much but that's one thing to note

What are you running for nute strength ?
I have no trouble with salt build-up in my coir but i only run 1.2 ec max. I only run a drain to waste once a week to purge any excess out.

i was using 5tsp of big bloom and 3 tsp of grow big and 1ml of root per gallon so i had actually watered the plants till runoff twice with that mix i had figured i was flushing the old stuff out doing that but the ppms were high from the run off. I then hit them with plain phed water figuring it would bring the ppms down had run off in both pots one plastic the other a grow bag one is a 15 gallon and other is 10 i suck all the water out never leave it sitting.
so ya i waited till i thought they were dry enough again the other day i tweeked my recipe and cut the nute strength in half and tryed giving both plants a half gallon each. I wait 3 days later today and the run off is at 2200 ppm for the pot and at 1200 for the grow bag im like wtf so i poured 2 5 gallon buckets of phed plain water threw both plants and it seemed like the plant in the grow bag went down somewhat to 900. the other one in a plastic pot still around 2000 ppm.
Should i now let them sit and wait a few days for them to dry out again then hit them with more plain water.
I have just picked up some heavy 16 today plus i have cyco grow. I plan to scrap the fox farm nutes and stop using them.
i am open to any extra advice i so far have not killed them yet i have also not noticed any burnt tips
Btw i tested some run off using a tds type meter the common grey colored one.
I also should mention the last grow i tryed using some cyco grow with 2 or 3 additives and the plants appeared burnt the tips on every one were yellow i had 5 of them going so i did not seem to care for cyco grow but that could have been do to grower error i might have not accounted for the additives and used the full amount of a&b i do realize this.

This is my veg nutrients.
And this my flower formula.
Used at 5 ml per gallon of the a&b with 2.5 ml of Si and 2.5 ml of the Dr.Repair for veg.

yea I don't know much about cyco grow I used some on one grow and it seemed like all of my tips were burnt I had yellow tips I did not use the whole cyco lineup I had a couple different additives like general hydro root and heavy 16 prime maybe it was too much of everything for the strains could have been partly genetics aswell I had went to a local seedbank and pickup some clones most of what they had was outdoor bread for the cold climate we have most crossed with 3 or 4 things. I did what I could to try and make them yield the end product was not knockout cali 2 hits blows your mind but crystally most of them and still decent alittle leafy some of the strains.
But I will say this it seemed like when I switched over to cyco grow from fox farms it seemed like that's when the tips showed yellow but like I said I have only used some for one grow.
I have just switched nutes so I will have to update on how they work in my hydrosoil post I will not clog up this thread with stoner gibberish some times I medicate and I mention something that might not need any worrying about

I max out my nutes at 600 ppm or 1.2 ec. Most of the time I'm running at 450-500 ppm.

I try to keep my ppm under 900 which is the same as yours, but I use a .7 conversion instead of .5. So much confusion with ppm, I wish everyone would just state the EC instead of ppm.

The reason I use ppm is I need a finer line than ec can give me. There are times when I only need to adjust my mix in the 20-40 ppm range.

I get it, I also use ppm, but if you hadn't of stated your ec, I would have thought you ran your nutrients, 300ppm less than me, which is a significant difference.
So it makes the most sense to me that when us growers talk amongst ourselves, that we speak in terms that are universal, such as the EC.
A grower friend of mine told me that Americans typically use the .7 conversion and Europeans prefer the .5 conversion. I don't know how true it is.
