CoCo Grow-->SourOG, GDP

Just finished up a DWC grow and now I am trying to give CoCo a try. Using 3-gal geopots with Canna coco, T-5 for veg, 400w hps for flower, Canna CoCo A&B, Rhizotonic, cal-mag, r/o H2O, EWC Tea, Cannazyme, and boost for flowering. Veg room is on a 24 hr light cycle while the flowering room is at 12/12. All temps are around 79F. Circulating fans are also in each room.

This is my second attempt at growing indoors. I was able to harvest off of my DWC system, but the growth that I have seen with the CoCo (not to mention ease) has caused me to switch. The Sour OG in the flowering room was vegged for 3 weeks from clone (9"). Now it is sitting at 41" in my flowering chamber 1 week into it. My veg room consists of 2-GDP, 1-larry og, and 1-blue cheese. I will be picking up a grape romulan clone later this weekend as well. :eyesmoke:

Here are a few pics taken today. The Sour og is in the flowering chamber with the last three WW remaining from my DWC grow. Cutting the WW today then moving in the GDP (on a small table of course). The Sour OG was 9" tall barely 3 weeks ago!!! I think I'm going to have to start bending her soon. I will keep the pics coming!

Okay, tomorrow marks day 21 of flower for the Sour OG and day 12 for the GDP. The Sour OG has stretched almost beyond control. It's a daily fight to keep tying her down.If I let her stand up she would be around 6' or so. Surely a sativa dominant strain. The GDPs on the other hand are short and squat. Much easier to deal with. So I have been using the Canna line of products and I am more than satisfied with the results. I started adding the bloom to the mix about a week ago. So far the results are amazing. I have been adding Mycorrhizae and Trichoderma fungi to the mix in the form of EWC tea with awesome results as well! Thank you to all who shared the knowledge on that. I will post pictures a little later tonight.

4tatude, the GDP's both turned hermaphrodite on me. I believe that it was the genetics because both of them turned and the other flowering plant (sour og) in the room did not. It wasn't from light leaks and not from stress IMO. Oh well. I recieved those cuts from a buddy instead of my usual nursery. Next time the nursery gets a GDP cut in I'll try again with this strain. Soo, I got rid of the GDP's and replaced them with a Blue Cheese. To answer your question though, they stretched a little (less than a foot) in 16 days. I hope that your GDP's turn out better than mine did. Since I moved the Blue Cheese in to the flowering room I now have more room in the veg room next to the larry OG and the clones so I will be stopping by the nursery to pick up a new purple bubba kush and a NL#5 today.

N-E ways, enjoy the pics. Day 28 (flower) on the big Sour OG and day 5 on the blue cheese. :leaf:

sorry to hear about the GDP. i hear that blue cheese is a good one to grow.is that BC in the last pic? very nice plant. how long you had that one in veg? i was kinda thinkin a foot or so on the strech on GDP due to its stubby nature inside. how tall were they when u flipped? mine are about 12in or so if they were let go but are kept less than 6 in with lst as im doing scrog.

Yeah, that's disappointing about the GDP. I only had em in flower for 15 days until they hermed, but I saw em stretch about 9-10". They were about 22" when I threw em into flower. The BC is in the 2nd pic. The last one is a Larry OG Kush. I got the Larry as a clone @ about 6" tall. It achieved the size it is now in about 3 weeks. I just keep tying her down and taking clones so she stays around that size until I have room in the flower chamber. She has been in veg for almost 2 months now.

So, today I have a couple of new additions to the family. One new northern lights #5 clone (pic #2) and one new hashplant clone (pic #3). These should be be fun!:weed:

Sorry about that. The camera needed a couple of new batteries. Sour OG in the first few then the last is the BC. Day 39 of flower for the Sour and day 16 for the BC. The sour is beginning to smell up the whole place so toady I picked up a few cans of ozium and a block of ONA. Hopefully it will tone down the stinky goodness so that it isn't all anybody smells all of then time. Even though it smells DANK! As for trichome coverage...the pics do this girl no justice at all. She is covered in sugar! I don't know if it is my camera or what. Oh well. Here are a few shots of the ladies showing' their stuff. 4tatude, how is your SCROG coming along? Are you keeping a journal @ all?:leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf::leaf:

Also, I started using using Purple Maxxx. So, far I'm impressed. Lots of trichomes! I also started using Serenade to help fight off that damned powdery mildew and this stuff is amazing. PW is all gone and no damage to the flowers at all.

oh now!! that is sweet n frosty!! love the coloration on those buds.
have a q. those leaves with the purple stems, ive been trimming those as they loose their sheen and start to decline. my thinking is they really dont do much in the later stages but ive been wrong many times before. what is your thoughts on trimming leaves? if those were mine id maby trim to allow light to those sites. just a newbee not experience talking. your thoughts?

I believe that you're right. I'm pretty green at this as well. I only have a few soil grows and one DWC grow under my belt. I've been trimming them off once 50% or more of the leave has withered. The plants seems to let them drop off once they're done with them. I could be wrong. I have heard people say not to trim once you flip the switch becuase it stresses out the ladies and I've heard some say to trim away leaves that block light from gettin to the bud sites. Hopefully somebody can answer this because I've kinda been wondering if I'm shooting myself in the foot by not trimming away the big fan fans from the bud sites. Great question 4tatude!

i think you will find people on both sides of that fence. ive read many post re same q.
personally i think that whatever you choose to do as long as you dont overdo it,and have the health of the plant in mind will be fine.
the thing i think may be more important than anything is your faith that you are doing right...
i personally think that healthy leaves look vibrant, and leaves that have out lived their usefulness start to dull and wither. i like to think im releaving some suffering when i trim. if you remove some f the older outgoing leaves it allows more light to be absorbed therefore creating the catalist that drives the plant rather than allowing them to stay and throwing an anchor out slowing new growth due to the energy being used to keep said leves alive. jmo

Alright, I know it's been a minute since I've updated, but I will tomorrow for sure. Pics and all if I can get my camera to cooperate. Tomorrow is the end of 8 weeks flower time for the Sour OG Kush. Se is looking great, but the trichomes are still mostly clear. I'm seeing new flower growth (filling in) still. I've been told that this is a 9 week flower so this next week should be interesting. I've taken a lil advice from 4tatude and trimmed away a good amount of sun leaves, especially the ones that where blocking bud sites. The BC has 32 days on her. Just got my bubble hash screen bags too. Used some other trim I had frozen and man was it nice. I can't wait to see what comes off of theses new ladies!

when do you start saving for the bubble h? only trim and popcorn or do you do leaves too?
