Coco oil infused caps

Made some infused coconut oil starting with some shake/popcorn nugs from latest Sour D run , some Chem D / GG shake as well .890ED10F-30EE-4DE3-8CE4-92B847F06D76.jpeg
-Used Instant-pot to decarb - About 10-15g buds per mason (half) , fill InstantPot with water to half way mark of jars. 40min on high.
-Added scoop of coco oil (1cup) to each jar.Hand tighten lightly , back in for 40min. strained with cheesecloth .6F2B6B83-406C-4751-A77B-DA7BA7B91F5F.jpeg

- found a pretty decent calculator- broke it down to 8-10mg thc per capsule at 15%thc on the calculator. I had a few break and went directly into my mouth.:weed: I’m feeling-it slightly on 3 or 4 caps 30min in . Just used 15% as a average. Who knows but I’m glad I made these, fun little pills to take with you wherever you can’t smoke. And free I might add.Screw those $80 bottles at shops. Cheers all:joint::joint:

Did another batch with Nugs (24g)instead of pop/trim. Added less oil (1cup) . According to this calc , looking more at 18 to 20mg per pill now. Much more efficient.
- anyone else’s bud kinda smell like pumpkins after de-carbing ? Have to do with the moisture in the InstantPot? Weird whatever it is. :joint:

Ok, didn't get the chance to try it out the other night. I've got right at an ounce of nugs that honestly I...intensely dislike. My wife says it is one of her favorite strains but it didn't taste like this. I can't see any mold but it has such a deep earthy taste I swear it's there somewhere. Probably one of the next photo girls I'll try. Hopefully it is just this pheno.

What's the highest concentration coconut oil can absorb? How much should I use? I only ordered 100 caps size 0.

I believe it comes down to the fat content. I usually make butter that I use 2cups per ounce. And it’s pretty potent. Went to coco oil for a healthier option. Downside it has less fat so I use 1cup per ounce.
- I take about 4-6 of the stronger pills I made and get a pretty good hhhmmmmm going on. I’m using Sour Diesel from last run so it’s def more heady. Carful drinking carbonated drinks and who you burp around when you have them in you lol . Got called out a few times.:bigjoint:
 
I noticed you didn't manicure, breakup, grind... your buds, does it not make a difference?

I do break it up after decarb ing and before the oil gets added. More surface area
- those are personal trim jars lol. I freaking hate trimming to perfection unless it’s for something
- forgot to ask if you used an InstantPot?

Natural or manual release? I'm about to give it a shot but only about half as much as I was going to, don't want to waste.
 
I went with the manual release. Damn do those things crumble after decarb. Back in for round 2.

Just caught this. I usually let it cool down on its own if I’ve got the time. Especially after the oil. I use the veggie caps and seem to do fine with not melting on you. Plus that release valve spits fucking fire at your fingertips :fire:
 
Had some issues with the syringe clogging and squirting on my hand but hey, good for the skin. Mine smelled more like bacon. And no, it wasn't the instapot. Let you know what I ended up with in a few.
 
From about a half ounce and approximately a half cup of oil I got 59 little sneaky shots. Not sure of their potency and it is too late for an evaluation tonight. Thus far rather happy. I went with the pretty capsules.

You're not kidding about the burping. Still don't like that taste, but at least I can drown it with something this way.
 
Not so sure about the drowning. Just ate a ham and cheese omelette and can still taste the weed. Still burping it.
 
2 cups of coffee, ham and cheese omelette with salsa, and a cappuccino later and I finally don't taste it. Gotta give this another shot with some better tasting strains.

I’m going to try it with avocado oil in the next couple days. Similar solidity as the coco oil but might help with the reflux smell. Gotta try to be sure right? bongsmilie
