I have been loving my modified hempy with lava rock as the media, just it is super heavy. So I picked up coco bricks , expanded clay and pearlite today. I will be growing in each media the same strain same room, same nutes etc.

Strains I am considering:

( have a poll up on another forum that will decide in 5 days which to order)
I am leaning towards the auto so I can keep this adventure in my veg room.

I agree, but I also want this to be a test of the seed/ breeder as well, so I can live with scientific inaccuracy and be content with that the thread will still provide useful, relevant info to some readers :0) , and help find out what media I enjoy working with more , IE days between watering, difficulty moving pots around, how big of a mess is made when my clumsy ass knocks something over, all that sort of thing :0D

So if you want to sub and follow along awesome! If you want to do a more Scientific and accurate version of this? Do it up and link it here so I can follow :0P

growstones in my hempy.

i thought lava rock leeches mercury or some other heavy metal. and not the good kind like Iron Maiden.

Today, igneous rocks give us valuable materials. They contain sulfur and mercury. Drug companies use sulfur in many medicines. Manufacturers use mercury in thermometers and electrical switches. Miners extract gold, silver, and copper from igneous rock. Road builders often use igneous rock in their work. Because it is hard, basalt makes a good road material. Home builders use obsidian and tuff as decorative stone. South Africa contains some of the world's richest deposits of these valuable ores. from "Igneous Rocks." The New Book of Knowledge. not trolling. just the facts.

I need to add pearlite to my brand new hempys, Canna over original Hydroton. I've been doing pure bagged coco in one gallon fabric pots fed by Tropf Blumat (but I can't get rid of white mold in the system). The hempy plants would truly be drowning if I watered to slight overflow at the drilled hole.

Was excited by the thread title but I understand, iliadtattoo.
