Coffee Can Growers

So how about:

Start from Seed Only
34.5 oz Can (Max size)
1 Main Category, unless there are 3+ participants for both a BS, and a "KB" category
End Date: 4/1 (For the sake of getting more people, and having some good headstash for 4/20 &#8730

Not real sure what else needs to be addressed, so we could pretty much address them as they are brought to our attention? Not much else you need to worry about I don't think, as long as there aren't any clones thrown in the mix, everything should be pretty fair.

coffee can grow seems to be more easier, i have a 1inch rockwoll cube housiing my autojack seed, i dont know if my netpot is big enough tho, its 3"diameter but only maybe 2.5 " depth..will this support the plant??? also......on another plant I have...what would make the leaves curl? I dont know if I mention this already or not but I was using tap water adjusted to 5.8 for my initial start, after about 2.5 weeks..about 2 days ago i added nutes now growth seems to have halted and leaves are praying..no yellow, no spots

I've had clawing pretty bad before too.....it was just my pH though. You sure your pH is around 5.8? Back off on the nutes some! Do you have a pH meter and/or EC Meter? and if you do have you had them calibrated lately? what do they read when you test your water?

You have a pic we can see? It is much easier diagnosing that way.

Plastic cans only, metal ones will mess up your plant.

BTW costco sells the big folgers containers and food 4 less, and smart and final

Ground Coffee 38.4 oz can should be the max size

Sounds good...I just went on Walmart.com and checked for the biggest can
I don't have either of those store where I'm at, but I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to find. √

Too bad I have no skids and can't find my air pump. Is this dwc only? I might manage one bagseed in coco in coffee can

ok so dont laugh. lol this is my first grow, see those 2 huge fan leaves? i dont know if the grow is right, ive compared it to some pics ive seen and it looks funny...all my leaves are curling, i check my PH with the hydroponics ph kit and im between the 5.5-6.0 range, I have a PPM meter on the way tho...when I started the nutes a couple days ago, i forgot I did not check the PH after everything was mixed and it shot up above 8.0 sooooooooooo im hping this is why my leaves curled..

the brown spot that is on the bottom leave, it kinda tore so its not a nute error.

Plant looks fine to me....not sure if this is a hydro plant or not, but if not it just looks thirsty to me. If not, could just be after effects of the pH....as long as you make sure everythings mixed up right from now on it should be fine!

yea im not to sure about the plant either, it came from an gram bag I picked up, as far as a name goes im clueless...it did however seed in a soil packet but just for root development....when u say thirsty..does that apply to a soil grow? because my roots are ALWAYS in water...

Heres one I did about a year ago. It was done in FFOF in a Folgers can EXACTLY like OP's only soil instead of hydro. Photos were taken around 4 weeks in flower. I germed 3 bag seed and only 1 of them was a girl. She was flowered using nothing but 3 x 26 watt CFL bulbs. Ended up with 3/4 oz from her. Not bad for a coffee can Here she is.

+1 silus that girl looks fiiineee i too am using 3x 26watt cfls daylights.....will switch over to cool for flowering..eventually haha



that being said, how close should my plant be to these 3 CFL bulbs? the plant i say is about 3.5 in tall ...this too has always been my concern, ive read I can put them as close as touching and as far as 3 inches. The plants about 1 inch away from the bulbs right now, adequate? I also have a small fan for heat.

Mike put those cfls as close as you can and have the fan blowing at the bulbs. They will be just fine. Clawing can ne a sign of a few things like too much "N" , root bound plant, overwatering, moisture stress. Now that I see your pic, I wouldnt call that clawing thats curling which is prolly heat stress but maybe cause your pH was 8.0 doesnt help either. Get that pH dialed in and it should be fine in now time.

Are we going to have the contest here or start a contest thread? I will throw in a small glass pipe for the winner and other mystery gifts. Who are the judges or we going to use a poll for voting?

Are from seed and coffee can the only rules? Looks like I'm picking up a couple bagseed tomorrow to try this contest if I can use coco

I'm getting so many likes on the undercurrent coffee cans I wish I had the money to make one

Voidling, I am thinking that there be a section for Seeds and one for Clones. As long as you use a coffee can you can use DWC, Soil, CoCo, Hempy or what ever you like...

The net pot fits Party Cups too but you lose alot of space for a res....You can see the difference between Party Cup and Coffee Can



What I am using for this grow: X Nutrients (baseline only), Silica Shield, Mother Of All Bloom (MOAB), Tea (Great White, Earth Worm Castings, Molasses), pH Meter, TDS Meter, Water Temp Gauge.



Whats funny is that I never finished a grow in a coffee can...but this time I am plus I am going to cross them too! Need to stock up on beans...
