you have to keep your roots warm. over 55 degrees. cold roots will slow the growth. once you get the floor warmed up, it should hold heat

I would just build some simple frames from 2 x 4's and wire fencing to get them off the ground a few inches. Also better air flow.

Concrete conducts and holds cold...no good for the roots homie! I believe sub gets his matting/flooring from harbor freight, but I could be wrong.

Preferably something that you can pull apart easily and clean.

I kept the foam I had in some packaging ( when they shipped lights ) 1 inch thick ... I put that between the concrete and my tent.

You can buy the silver insulation board at Home depot. It's 4x8 and 2 in thick. About 25 bucks. I'm on a cement floor in a cellar and it works great.

I just use 2x4's...... for now none of my plants are the same height so to keep the canopy even I chopped a bunch of 8" long 2x4's and use 2 (side by side not stacked obviously) on the tallest plant to keep it a minimum of an 1-1/2" off the floor and then adjust for an even canopy on the shorter ones... I planned on making them a little more permanent with a piece of 1/2" plywood screwed to the top of each 2 8" pieces to hold them together but I never got around to it....

I used some mesh pots I had just to get them off the ground. I'm going to look for those mats this weekend.

I started using supersoil a few months ago, And have noticed a couple seeds in my flowers. I've never gotten a seed from a female plant before. Has anyone experienced that before. I guess I should've asked if any one uses supersoil first. HahahA! The seeds did come from some freebies that attitude sends. So they're from a feminized plant. I havnt run my regular packs yet, but am wondering if it could be caused by the SS.

I think they are stall mats, I believe you can get them at TSC stores or a farm supply store

these are awesome: http://www.amazon.com/We-Sell-Mats-Quality-Interlocking/dp/B003IK3CO0/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1354224258&sr=8-5&keywords=weight+floor+mat
those interlocking mats are nice and you can take them apart if you ever needed to wipe them down or take them out. If I didnt have plywood and 2x3's already id probably order those.

you could go the cheaper but effective way like me and just use 4x8 plywood and 2x3's to make a platform. as long as the pot isnt touching the floor it will be good.
nugbuckets has a nice example of a well built platform in his bloom room on The Main-Lining thread

Yea those interlocking ones look to be the way to go. I have to get something permanent for my water drum. I have a lounge chair cushion under. It's doing the trick. The water was around 53 degree

As noted in most posts, keeping the root system at a reasonably warm temperature is critical to vigorous growth. For my indoor veg plants I've been growing in 3 gallon pots that fit perfectly into 5 gallon utility buckets. The three gallon pts have lips that hold the pot in the upper area of the 5 gallon pot, leaving a good two gallons of space below the rooted pot. This not only keeps the raised root system warm, but because the 5 gallon bucket catches the run-off, a humid environment below the roots is created. I even recycle the run-off water/nutes back into each three gallon pot. My flowering plants are then placed in raised beds, 3' x 5' boxes built on a platform made of a shipping palatte with wheels mounted all around. More about the raised bed system can be learned by reading some of the information put together by Soma -- his book is worth a quick read -- "Organic Marijuana - Soma Style."
