Cold Water Cure

I tried this and wasn't impressed however, it may have been all my fault. I soaked the bud in a 5 gal bucket. I cut the O. D. of the bucket lid down to fit the inside of the bucket and filled the lid with 1/2" holes.
In goes the bud, in goes the water, in goes the lid. With a little weight on top of "the lid" the bud was "open to fresh air" and also under water. Changed water every day.
I think my soak was always too cool. It stayed around 50 F. The rinse never did change color much. End result after drying was still fairly harsh.
Anyone know about Cold Water Cure temps?

Thanks

If you want a fast cure, you're better off speed drying and dealing with the green taste. Water curing works but ruins the appeal, the taste, and part of the effect that can only be gotten from oxidation.

If you have an old pc tube monitor, put your buds on the vent, let it dry to crisp, and put in a jar for 6 hours. you'll be much happier that way.

hmm i tried water cure too, i was not impressed, i agree with the quick drying from Grnmn

keep growing new strains/clones whatever, until you find something you think is great - perfect .. everyone has their own preference

i have weed that taste great dried quick in heat for 3 days, it taste better than other strains i have that have been cured for months
i think the mark of great weed is that it will taste good without a cure ,
curing it only brings out more subtle flavours and allows other flavours to merge and blend together

I water cured and it sucked. I've heard of people trying to watercure molded weed, or weed that had the odor of damage from bad cure, and it just makes the weed have poor smell and poor smoke and poor leafy sad appearence :(

I water-cured once and i'll say I'm never going to do it again. To me it had the same potency of normal bud just without the taste or smell which made it no fun to smoke at all.

I harvested late here in the northeast and had to water cure since I could not effectively are cure. The results were pretty decent. Arguably, the taste and smell was muted and the bud is kind of ugly, but the bud smokes easy and gets me baked.......

i water cured a small amount of bud last year just to try it out

I would only do it if your weed is moldy, water cure or BHO

However, i bought a MF Launch Box and the water cured weed rocks in that. Absolutely no smell at all

I can vape it in my room and nobody can smell it, sure beats smoking weed outside when its 2 degrees outside
