no, youre just paying more attention to it.

Antarctica is noted for it's cold and severe weather, just as LA is noted for being sunny and hotter than balls, and san fancisco is cold damp and foggy.

if global warming is responsible for all weather patterns, it's responsible for NONE of them.
Everything is just fine, the Earth and us are independent.

This shows the Sunrise and Sunset for the station in question.
http://dateandtime.info/citysunrisesunset.php?id=6620749&month=6&year=2014

possible they mean clouds blocking sunlight
Not clouds...quite the opposite, actually.
Using 2.75*30 = 82.5 hrs of total sunlight possible (average), they are noting a 14.3% exposure relative to the normal 8.97% amount of sunlight.
They are still predominately overcast by that estimation. However, the amount of cloud cover went down, along with the frequency of snowfalls.
Average winds fell to ~22km/h (from 35)...so it wasn't "windless".
But examine some of these facts from the end of the translation:

The wind blows 115 days a year to more than 100 km / h and approaches or exceeds annual 200 km / h. The record speed was recorded May 23, 1988, gusting to 245 km / h. The station is not located in a corridor terrible katabatic winds (from the Greek [katabatikos], "go down"). These winds, which originate from [the] cold, dense air mass, descend [from] the slopes of the high Antarctic plateau due to its own weight, [and] can reach 300 km/h on the coast. They mostly occur in the passage of disturbances in the autumn and spring periods of strong thermal contrasts between the sea air and continental air.

Those are some hefty speeds. Yet, it is that "thermal contrast" which catches my attention. The exchange which the air performs along the coasts is a vital factor in this anomaly, I suspect.
The cartoon in my head is still qualitative, but I can't help noticing the peculiar pattern of clouds and winds when I look at a time lapse animation of them.
Alluring puzzle, it is, mmmm yes!:joint:

your impassioned feels about the condition of the earth have NO EFFECT on the actual condition of the earth.

if we run out of oil (which was supposed to happen years ago...) then a whole lot of people will die off, and the earth will restore balance to it's system.

fortunately most of those who die off will be foreigners, so it's no big deal.

You are probably correct, I look at the inevitable extinction of humans through a narrow lens. I am empassioned because the suffering is real....in the meantime I will decide to just not care, discredit, or remain passionate.

Uncle Buck will just declare it a local phenomenon which as we all know has nothing to do with global temperatures...
Oh dear God, what if Denver freezes over? Will his wife have to pay for ANOTHER move to a warmer climate? In a legal state? What will become of his frozen cat turd curing compound? This is all just too much to digest right now....maybe Whataburger is still hiring.

'Twas copied and pasted. This place is still "beta" so they are a ways off from adding more emoticons, I suspect.
I'm still waiting for LaTeX code options to be added...
It will never happen.

Not sure a mental disabilty is govt funded, but then again, I don't know....Uncle Disabilty could probably enlighten us.
A mental disability is denied about 90% of the time by them. you really have to be in bad shape....took me over a year to get benefits and I had an advocate.

they mean Clear Skies.

since it's winter down there, they should be experiencing storms cloud cover and shit, but it's not overcast.

clouds are insulators, so it's colder than shit when there's clear skies.
citation needed for that one, "doctor".
