Color of Roots

I'm in week three of my veg and when inspecting the roots in my aeroponics setup I noticed some of the roots are green in the center, and some have a light brown color.

I know white is a sign of healthy roots... but should I be worried about the light green? 20160606_182832.jpg 20160606_182802.jpg 20160606_182832.jpg 20160606_182802.jpg

It's from light getting to your roots through the buckets. Brown is probably algae and won't hurt anything (from the looks of the pictures)

Not really ideal. Duct tape the outside of the buckets (with reflective tape) to light proof them a bit... Or get black buckets.

Thanks!

I'm using the Lucas formula for nutes with no organics so I'm thinking about adding some Hydrogen Peroxide to the resevior if it is algae.

I'll try blocking out light and see if that helps...

No prob! Had that same issue myself back in the days of my first bubble buckets.

It'll help. The green you got won't go away I don't think but it won't get worse and won't hurt anything (at this stage) if you tape it up.

H202 works, I've used it, makes roots explode too, but I'm a fan of beneficial bacterias (I use hydrogaurd). Really the algae is not an issue tho. I have it pop up all the time, especially when light gets to the res. But by all means, just don't add too much and if I remember right you have to add it every 2-3 days... It'll also take all the color out of your nutrient mix, don't panic it's fine lol

What mrgoodtimes said. Keep that light out. Mine are wrapped in reflective bubble wrap insulation. Lids too.16248016866734820472493723391350.jpg
