Color Temperature

I'm going to be using compact fluorescents. After my first harvest if the rest of my setup is sucsessful I will upgrade to a ballasted system, but thats a ways off. Right now I've got 2 lights, I may upgrade to 4 or 6 depending on how much space I have. I got these bulbs because they were the highest lumens I could find locally. (I'm on a budget, can't afford shipping and would prefer to do this whole thing on a cash only basis) They put out 2700 lumens each. They however don't say anything about what color they are. A little research online and I found their stats:

Color Temp: 2700k
Color Rendering Index: 82

Online they are refered to as Soft White, but it doesn't say that anywhere on the packaging. Will these be ok for vegging?

i think they are a little lower than the brightest "bright white", which i've checked 5 hardware stores and still can't find. they will work. the more the better

I found a couple GE Eco-Lux tubes that each put out 3100 and 3400 lumens(3000k and 4100k), although they are four feet long. But, I have two little babies beginning vegetative growth. I have heard that a mixture of cool and red light is best for seedling and vegetative growth. The red light is what you want for flowering stage...which is is great with High pressure sodium lights.

While HPS or MH lights are too hot for me, I am going to see what kind of buds I get with a high output fluorescent setep(to be bought).
