Colorado/ 2000 Watt/ 4x8 Tent/ SCROG/ Coco

Whats up RIU,

Here is what im working with:

photo 4.jpg
The Exhaust Fan and the Intake fan which pulls fresh air from outside are on one controller, and the exhaust fan for the hoods is always on when the lights are on.

5 plants per light
The plants are elevated on two individual 4x4 PVC frames which also supports individual trellaces allowing me to unzip the tent and easily walk each frame out of the tent into the open where i can inspect and clean when necessary. As well as rotate the frame every week to give the plants different perspectives from the lights.

Two Dimmable/switchable 1000 watters
As well as the intake coming in from the window.

Nice setup mate. Curious to know how you manage run off - do you just lift out the saucers under each plant? Thinking of doing something similar to this. Cheers for the post

Thanks a lot,

I actually just try to water so that it's seeping out the bottom but not overflowing my pans. If there is ever sitting water in the pan, they drink it or it's evaporated by the next day.

looks good man!! love how easy those tents are!! I spent around $125 buks per sq ft to build my room. its sealed up really nice but those tents are on my list to set up!!! good luck man. there is also a grow journal forum too!!

Looking good bro. I would suggest and it's only a suggestion, using coco I would recommended aing for 10-20% run off when feeding. You need to ensure your media gets saturated each time and no dry patches form. Coco and perlite are essentially a hydroponics grow so run off is a really good idea. Looks good though mate

Yeah I definitely regret not buying the 75$ pans and rigging some type of drainage. So run off would help flush out any excess salts built up from previous watering a as well as pull in fresh nutrients and oxygen to my roots. This is my first coco grow so I wasn't familiar with all of the hazards. I have been flushing with a little cal mag and some flushing agent every two weeks or so pulling the run off water out with my shop vac but it's a bitch. Also I need to start testing my runoff ph and ppm to make sure they are stable. Thanks a lot for the suggestion. I wish it was easily enough to lift the plants up and get a large tray under them.

So I went and finally gave in and bought two trays and rigged up a drainage system so that I can get proper runoff and flushes. I ran 90 gallons of water with some botanicare clearex and cal/mag at 300 ppm and pH 5.5 through my coco and was still getting a pH of 6.1 coming out. The ppm stabilized around 400 which I am happy with but what do you guys think is wrong? Why won't my pH drop below 6.1 after I ran 90 gallons through the plants?
