Colorado Outdoor growing question

Hey guys quick question here for anyone who is or has lived on the front range of CO...

I germinated 2 seeds on a whim and then planted them outside in pots earlier this summer, because hey, its legal now. They've been thriving and looking nice and green. Feeding general hydroponics flora nova grow every watering, watering every 3-4 days.

Anyway I was just wondering from other peoples experience when they will start flowering, and when frost comes and you can't keep them outside any longer, Do you just bring the pots inside once it starts getting really cold at night, or do you go all the way outside?
Also, they don't get very much sun due to the only location I can have them in. So they get 4-5 hours of direct sunlight a day, and the rest is just ambient light. So would it be worth it when I start flowering to bring them inside for the daytime? I have a 400W HPS in a decent size closet tent but I was hoping to do a full outdoor grow.

Heres a pic of how they are looking. Smaller one on the left is a definite female (preflowers), not sure about the nice one on the right. Pulling for a female!
Thanks

It looks like she is doing well where she is at? I would let her go and bring her in if it is going to get around 35 degrees...That's just my "newb" opinion though.....

In Colorado it is illegal to grow in the site of the public. I would move those plant's indoors before you get a ticket.

hi mattoak, I also am located in the front range and my outdoor gals started flowering around the first wk of aug. depending on strain my garden is 2-3 wks full flower. I intend to finish them outside end of sept, with some rolling over into oct. If you are just now seeing preflowers I would estimate an outdoor harvest sometime in second 1/2 of oct if it's an 8 wk strain. Seeing as you have a 400w light (my very first set-up ;) ) then I would move them under it NOW. I know in your post you want to do a "full outdoor grow" but it sounds like your outdoor locale is less than desirable (not nearly enough light for yield) and if you're giving them the attention so many of us give our garden then you'll want to see your work pay off. Also start giving flowering nutrients NOW as that likely has a lot to do with the lack of flowering you're seeing this late in the game.

since it is "legal" here now (roll up to a pig with a lb, shit even an oz and see how legal it is, you better be white or your ass is grass! fucked up but the truth!) do the right thing and get a medical card as you will have access that will allow you to take much of the guesswork out of the genetics you're growing, not to mention you can carry meds with you almost anywhere.

if you have any other ?'s i'd be happy to oblige, good luck!

Thanks for the replies. I'll switch over to flowering nutes. I have several oz's left from my winter grow so I'm not too concerned with yield and would rather save the electricity costs I think and just see where the sun takes them. I'm not overly concerned with yield or quality as I literally have too much right now...and I had to stop smoking for a while so what I do have left is just sitting around. I may take them inside eventually if the flowers look a little too airy for my liking though.

Obviously I'm not running around town flashing weed in front of cops lol...but what have you heard about them doing to people that they've found holding? I don't see or believe how they would do much for someone with a couple grams on them...?

And pasreel, they are definitely not in sight of the public, or the street, or sidewalk. You would have to be coming to my door for a specific reason to see them so I think I'll be ok.

what the police do all depends on what county you're located in. whether it's a city cop or a sheriff. denver and boulder county being the friendliest with weld and huerfeno being no grow zones. the biggest thing they look for when they find cannabis on a non red card holder is did that person get it from a red card holder, THAT is when you get into trouble as most dispensaries must label everything even going so far as to put the patients name on the product. sounds like you've got it together enough to know the do's and don'ts. good luck!

they (them, the MAN), is still trying to figure out the frame work for such an escapade. it seems as though the Dept of Revenue's Medical Marijuana Enforcement Division (whom which I have been licensed with a MMED Support Badge) is going to be divided into two separate regulatory divisions, one for medical, and the other to regulate cannabis like alcohol. this of course has yet to happen but our governor hick has promised us answers and access, by this coming november. have heard that Boulder County grosses the highest MMJ tax in the country from the licensed large scale medical marijuana grows, indoor and out. Denver is nuts too try going down through commerce city, 1000x1k light grows ducting directly onto the street, no filtration at all.
