Colorado Prices on the Rise....

With the passage of Proposition AA allowing for up to a 25% tax on retail marijuana and an addition 3.5% passed in the City of Denver, you may be paying more for your marijuana than before, even true for Medical Marijuana Patients.

A $25 1/8th of Retail will have over $7 taxes added to it, a $35 1/8th will have about $10 added to it. Combine this with the fact that, generally, inventories are LOW in the Denver area and the new demand coming January 1, 2014 with retail marijuana, and I expect prices to go UP. Some of your budget growers are already inching prices up, expect some of them to add $5 to each 1/8th as demand increases and inventory falls.

Medical Marijuana Patients may see shortages due to retail demand. I recommend stocking up with your favorite strains if you are a medical patient.

WANT to AVOID all these TAXES? Grow your own!

Nothing changes if you have a red card.

That depends on where you buy it. Denver will probably be the most expensive.

Every dispensary owner I have talked to has been preparing for this since before the election. When dispensaries first opened the prices were high and dropped quickly due to competition. I expect the same with recreational sales.

You mean illegal weed sellers? That is not true for all, not the guy I know.

I think there will be plenty of weed in Colorado.
I do not recommend going over what the state allows.

- OK, we'll see. I have heard from 2 of the largest MMJ owners that their stock is LOW and they FULLY EXPECT to ration at some point, even to MMJ patients. You seem to have an answer for EVERYTHING.

- Agreed, but I am telling you inventory is DOWN.

- No. I mean dispensaries with 1/8ths in the $20-$25 range.
I think there will be plenty of weed in Colorado.

- Neither do I. Did I recommend breaking the law? Wow.

Way ahead of you.

Do I know you? I'd watch making false allegations....

Facts:

While most have been preparing for this since the day it passed, the additional grow space for retail is JUST NOW, in the last month, getting permitted. In addition, the new law requires THC content labeling, this will add another step prior to sale, testing.

MMJ has about 110,000 patients, retail has over 4 million potential, not even including out of state buyers.

I don't think we will run out of weed in Colorado, I think we will see some shortages until the newly permitted retail growing spaces refill the inventories.

Prices will go up. Expect lines, waiting, at your new retail / dispensary if the place you go decides to do retail. There will be a whole new wave of new shoppers that will slow things down as well. I'm just pointing it out.

You are expressing opinions, so am I.

That is your opinion. I have heard different from more than a few dispensary owners. They have had over a year to prepare. The smart ones are ready.

I have seen the opposite with many places offering specials and lowering their prices. We can both have opinions.

Settle down Bevis, you said to stock up.

You should try decaf and maybe a strain that causes less paranoia, maybe a nice indica.

You cant go out and buy say 10 ounces and store them legally, however if you grow and prove that you grow you can keep all your harvest.

Great, please share the places you see that are currently dropping prices, all the places I've gone lately have raised prices (or stayed steady) and have less to choose from, even quality gets a bit ragged at times. It doesn't matter to me, I was just sharing information

I was NOT expressing my OPINION, I was relaying what I was told. Maybe they were blowing smoke up my a$$, but I doubt it. Look, again my point is: there will likely be some short term shortages and resulting increases in price. Your statement that "Nothing changes if you have a red card" MAY be accurate for you (grow your own, so who cares, right?), but for most it will bring changes, some temporary, some permanent.

You were sharing an opinion as was I.

I was NOT expressing my OPINION, I was relaying what I was told.
By that token, I was not expressing an opinion, I was just passing on what I was told.

It does not matter. Maybe they were blowing smoke up my ass (why are you afraid of the word "ass"?).
We both could be wrong.

I agree with that. You really seem to think all your opinions on this subject are correct. I do not agree with all you said.

Everyone should grow their own and do it organically.
Organic soil is so much better than every other method.

If you have a plant count that allows you to have up to 24oz you actually can. I've done it plenty of times.

With the new law, if you could "prove" that you grew it, you could legally have pounds in your house.

there are warehouses with 20lbs of 20 flavors so i dont see how they will run out... maybe your mom and pop shop will but they can just buy from the megawarehouses.

Had county sheriff tell me "If I pulled you over and you had five pounds in the car I wouldn't even bring it up. More and we are talking about possible trafficking." That blew me away. They really dont care about weed anymore unless your breaking other laws, using publicly, holding in a school zone, have kids present or just pissed off the cop.

I know my car reeks. Spilled the bubbler and lost the roach too many times. The fast food people always say my car smells nice. Had a few traffic tickets with out any questions.

Hahah, I saw another article on the same story on 420 magazine.

It said Fox anticipates to sell to at least 100 customers a day. LMFAO.

Have you ever been in a dispensary in San francisco? They go through 100 customers an hour, at least.

business will be business as usual.

I'd short it, if I could.
