I've moved mine quite a bit to get so-called proper pictures.
check my journal, just posted them, last ones in my last post to date.

Don't want to clog your thread with pictures..

Anyhow, mine is a bit further and should have 2-3 weeks left.

If you'r already at my journal have a look at how a mature bud looks like, just chopped one.
I could have chopped a week ago, but it looked pretty much the same.

Theres no way i would of said that because i always go by trichs
The plant i was talking about was pure sativa , i pulled that down when all the hairs were still white but the trichs were ready for my liking

After looking back at McFonz pics most of the hairs are still white i must of been seeing things, but his plant clearly looks ripe

i was actually refering to mcfonz and his journal on icmag and a comment he made earlier here masterhemp i should have been more clear lol
I never harvest based only on trichome color.
although after going back and rereading i think i miss read what he meant

It is FAR from being ready.
Trust me on that, I've pulled plants prematurely before and I've pulled prefectly matured plants before. This one is not ready to go.

They are, she isn't ready.
My Sweet Deep Grapefruit was, and she got chopped yesterday.
The Ice Kush is still up and running.

I've harvested by the trichome color only after I got my other factors ready:
*The pods swole greatly and stopped doing so.
*Over 50% of the hairs gone brown and shrivled.
Only then I went to the third factor, which is more of a fine tune,
*With Indica's I want 30-60% amber trichomes, and the rest should be milky. Less than 10% clear.

This one had around 60% amber trichomes, none clear and a few black ones. Rest were milky.
But I've started looking at them only after the pods started to swell and pistils started dying.

@steve6green:
I use a handheld cheap microscope from ebay, up to x100. It has a built-in blue LED and run with 3 watch batteries. (Which I've ordered from china for a friction of the price for a 10-pack)
The built-in LED helps to show the true color of the trichomes. Unless you use it the HPS (or any 2700 kelving light) will make the trichomes look amber just because the light is pretty red.

It was pretty cheap, around 10 bucks but after around 2 years the LED died (and I wasn't using it too much) so I had to replace it.
It eats batteries quickly so have some extra's around.

nice odlaw, sweet grow here, thats some dense foilage on icky, you should pluck the fan leaves only to allow more light penetration, it wont do any damage, it will only slow its growth a day then icky will get back to her first priority of making them buds swell and further develop. nice one, ill check back to see the finished product.
