Not just for hydro...
I mix it with my soil for better aeration. It also helps regulate moisture, giving some when plants need it, and absorbing excess when watering soil too much.
It has no nutritional or pH value(neutral pH), so it needs to be mixed with nute-rich soil or plants within it need to be fed/watered more frequently.
 
Well 4 weeks in, I think everything is going well. Fingers (and everything else) crossed. I`m doing : feed / feed / just water regime seems to be okay. I just worried about over doing it with nutrients. I`m following the nutrient feeding regime that came with the soil, they are from the same company.

They look very sad. How often are you watering?
 
What sort of fans do you have to circulate the air, rather than the extraction fan?

Only ask as I can't see any in the pics

I have Plagron lightmix terra soil, and I`m following their feeding schedule. So should I just water for 2 days?
I have pulled off some lower yellowing leaves :(

The hardest but best way to learn.

Have you measured the strength of your feed in EC or ppm? That would be a great idea to check before each feed.
 
I would say no nuts for a while, ideally the leaves will be pointing upward. as just mentioned, you should have a way to measure how much nutrients are in your water, and the runoff. My guess is too much, the water coming out of the pots should be 1500 ppm. This is just a estimate, but if it much more its too much.

Thanks burnpile. I`ve just bought meters to measure ppm and EC, I had originally just ph`d my water.

If you have a mature plant it could take 1500 ppm water, for the small ones less is better. My water is 380 from the well and I usually want to be approx 1200 for the plants. The runoff seems to be a little more generally. After a while, you need to clean and calibrate the ppm meter, it can start giving a low reading if it's dirty.
