They don't really need light until they sprout, then put them on 24/0 or 18/6 lighting time, you'll need a High Pressure Sodium lamp or a Metal Halide lamp or some Compact Fluorescent Bulbs, you can find them online or at hardware stores or lighting stores. They will need ventilation once the leaves show, give them a few days to a week to sprout, sometimes it can take longer. You don't need to use anything on the plants yet, the soil should have everything they need, you can get some SuperThrive if you'd like and give them some of that, it helps early plant growth and makes the plant more forgiving to shock or mistreatment.

You should buy a moisture meter (around $5) to know when to water, it's the most foolproof method.

Welcome to the forum. You don't need to plant them that deep. 10mm would be the max. As long as you didn't pack it down it won't hurt, it will just take longer for it to show. VV

10mm is okay, if you use some clone hormone alone you push your chances even higher that something gone spruce soon.

ventilation is needed, get a little fan up there at least - it is about keeping the air from stall not so much about fresh air since it is damn hard to build something airtight;)

no nutes till week 3-5 if you are on soil! water only if the soil dries up pn top and the soil in the drain holes looks only slightly moist still.

if you plant plain into soil it can take longer then a week, with a cloning agent it can be done in less then 48h really.

Hey blue sounds like you are off to a good start.
I would read growgaq up top on the left If I were you.
Anything you can not find in there you should search for on the internet.
I feel like with today's technology if you are not reading before you start growing you are spinning your wheels.
I am sure anyone would be willing to answer specific questions for you.

Welcome to the site.

Happy growing

usually the soil has nutes, enough for a seedling anyway, adding a lil phosphorus will help the roots. the key with feeding is start small, its strain dependent, so each strain will like its on nute regiment. practice, but always start small. i only water in the morning, or when the lights just turn on, and folier feed when the lights just turn on or right befor they turn off and the temps are less then 80 so the stomatas are open, fine mist spray. as much air and co2 in the water as possible. peace

I'm on my first grow too so I'm no expert but b4 I started I spent some time educating myself. There are no shortcuts, you gotta get stuck in and READ READ READ. Then start growing, when you'll learm a whole lot more from your mistakes.

There is a ton of good advice and info on this forum - go search it out. Check out the 'free grow videos' sticky.

Looking at your pics a few things occur to me: is that tinfoil you're using? If yes then lose it - evryone agress that it's not the best, and can cause hot spots. I think you are mistaken about the plant showing its sex - it is way too young to tell.

you can go to the dollar store and pick up some of that thick water proof wrapping paper... It is white on the side without the print .... That should be perfect 4 you

what could i use in stead of tinfoyal that is cheap as budget not huge, thanks

If you got your plants in a box (not sure, but thats how it looks in your pics) then its better to paint the inside of the box with white matt paint or cover it in Mylar which is a kind of wrapping paper that many people reccomend because it has excellent reflective properties. You can also cover the walls of your grow room in Mylar, or paint them white. Mylar can be easily bought - dont know where you live so do a search for mylar in RollItUp and you can probably find suggestions on where to buy.
