ok, so me and my friend were on my back porch pulling out seeds and he gave them to me and said go plant these in one of your mom's pots. so i did, and he gave me basic instructions, like plant the seed like a little deeper than your fingernail, and it being maybe 2 weeks or so, they are growing slowly, but i have more than 5 of them. without even trying also.

but i have been doing my research, i read stuff about ph and such, but im not taking my plants THAT seriously i dont think, unless my mom can help me. she grows her own vegetables, like tomato's, cucumbers, watermelons, strawberrys etc., and shes an avid gardener.

(NOTE: i planted my seeds in the same one that has a tomato plant in it, so if it gets tall it wont stick out too much i dont think.)

but my mom goes out there and waters everything atleast once i day i believe, and shes cool with it. i know i need to wait a long time untill i can sex them etc. but if i can get some basic help on things like the difference between budding and flowering, and when i should do that stuff and if i should leave them alone during that time, or just let them do their own thing. but the idea of growing your own bud is tight. i just need some simple stuff that i could try and make the best out of my plants.

& ill get some pics real soon.

if it hasnt sprouted yet, take it out and give it it's own pot. if it grows up with the tomato plant their roots will get all tangled, and at the very least your mom might be irked that her tomato plant is all tangled up with the herb.

plus, dont surprise her...let her know whats going on. she might be cool with it, but people always want to be informed as to whats going on, especially in their own garden.

hey,
keep reading bout how to grow watch videos also,, if your growing outdoor just let them do there thing at the end of the summer they will sex (little balls - male .. white hair - female) then the buds will start growing for 7-8 weeks.

keep water ph at 6.5, buy some grow nutes and give when needed and flowering nutes during flowering and then u will have some lovely free weed...... :joint::joint::peace:

here a few pics of what ive got. and my mom knows, i told her i planted seeds and they started to grow and shes really cool about it. & i have been thinking about asking her to help me get my own pots for growing, and having her help me make the soil and stuff, as im fairly new to gardening.

and also i am confused as to when i planted them, so they are from 1-3 weeks old, im not sure.

they are in a green house yeah? outdoor plants get large so you will want a large pot. at least 3 gallon. and id get them transplanted soon. you can start them out in smaller pots as well. but in the end you will need a big one. 1 gallon of pot space for 1 ft of plant growth is a good way to go.

not really... as my college is nearby, and i dont need to waiste $$ on a dorm room when my campus is a 10 min drive away. but anywho...

the plants arent in a greenhouse though, its my back porch, its got privacy fences on all the sides that anyone could possibly see what is growing, but i DO want to try to get something smokeable out of this.

but i will get some pots at lowes, and how many plants should i put in per pot? (i dont think i want to make huge monster plants, im thinking i dont want to make these any more than maybe 3-4 feet tall)

and is there any particular type of soil that works well that i should fill up my pots with? because i have read that miracle grow does how some downsides, and possibly could ruin them.

im just doing some research on the internet about how much $$ its gonna cost to get my pots, and im looking at this being the BIGGEST i think i want to go:
16" Roll Rim Poly Planter

im not sure how many galons that is, but i think its a reasonable price, but everything is different when you really go there. but would anyone know if thats an ok size if im not aiming to make some 6ft monsters, maybe 3-4 feet max.

if i can use a smaller pot, or if i could grow two plants in a pot the size of the one above, ill do that.

& still looking for some recommendations on soil to use. ive read something about fox farms? if that is a good one, is it easy to get?

now im sure its been 3 weeks... are they really small for 3-week outdoor-only plants?

if they are small for their age ill try and give them more sunlight.

You only want 1 per pot. It's already going to cause a ton of stress transplanting those with 5 close together, so do it asap. Also they are stretching really badly (Growing taller and taller but not growing more leaves), that's a strong indication of not enough light.

grow faq top left...
I agree.

How is it that when someone posts a legitimate thread they get 2-3 responses and someone who obviously hasn't spent any time at all reading anything informational gets two or three PAGES of responses? What's with this? The GrowFaq has ALL the basic ways to get started, yet it's the last place someone new might click. Should the button be bigger? Does anyone read the sticky threads?
