so I'm getting a yard of compost to mix into my 2 yards of soil. Think the compost needs any amendments mixed in with it ?
The soil mix is recycled root balls that are charged like subs mix, minus blood meal, + crab meal. I'm working on a changing my recipe but it's not quick. The compost is made by a company called full circle compost. They are local and I'm not sure how they make it. I was thinking of adding crab meal, fish bone meal, oyster shell and lime.hard to say.. whats in your soil mix?
and what was the compost comprised of?
personally I don't like lime in my compost. The soil mix is recycled root balls that are charged like subs mix, minus blood meal, + crab meal. I'm working on a changing my recipe but it's not quick. not sure what you meant by that, you MUST have nitrogen in your pile or it will take yrs to breakdown, hence the usage of grass clippings, alfalfa, etc.Ok cool, I'm new to compost and never have had a yard of it. I figured stay away from nitrogen sources if I amend it. Are there any amendments I'm not using that I should ? Ive been looking at neem meal, insect frass and bio-live is looking like a great top dress for my outdoor. View attachment 3672469 Here's a old list, like I said don't use the blood meal, added crab. The charcoal at the bottom is not used also. Thanks for your input. This is all soil for outdoor.
oh, i'd say no Epsom, no d-lime, no azomite, no guanos, no bovine bone meal, no blood meal.Ok cool, I'm new to compost and never have had a yard of it.
