Computer Fan Questions

I am new to the site I have spent some time looking around, searching and doing some research. I am needing to setup some ventilation in my cabinet. I want to use a pc fan and need to get it wired up. I know I can use a phone charger but those are only 5v instead of 12v.

I have tried to search but it doesn't turn up anything. Either i'm retarded with the search button (NOT new to forums in general) or i'm not looking in the right spot. Anyone know a cheap place to get a 12v AC adapter? or will the 5v be enough.

Hey man, i have just set up a 12 v fan in my grow space. if you click on the link in my signature it will take you to my grow journal, shows you exactly how to do it and there is a link to a you tube video. If it is a 12V fan, it should work on 5V but it will be pretty slow... it will work best at 12V. Best place to get an adaptor with different voltage options for speed control is Ebay!:-o Anyway, check it out and if it helps let me know:leaf:.

@Flames - goto Radio Shack. They have kits you build yourself variable power supply. Expect to pay between $15 to $25 (Yah it's expensive - it's freaking Radio Shack), and they are super simple to build. You WILL need a soldering gun - but asside from that - they give you everything you need including the case.
