Computer Fans

I keep on reading or hearing about growers using computer fans for ventilation, but those fans have special plugs that run on a computer power supply. So how do you power them?

we re-wire them to 12volt dc plugs.,.,go0gle it and it will give picture directions on how to wire.,.,fairly easy.,.,basically u need scissors/electric tape/old fone charger and off ya go

No need to rewire if you buy the right fans to start with. Digi-Key is the place to go for fans and pretty much anything else electronic!

These are AC and you buy the power cords separately(bottom page), then they plug right in! can be used with speed controllers, timers, etc...

U can use some old phone chargers on those fAns
I took an old nokia 9v dc charger
make sure u use dc power converter otherwiSe something will explode

or you can use an old computer PSU (the power unit inside the pc), you can short two wires on the big plug that goes to the motherboard, and it'll be alway on.

http://www.gideontech.com/content/articles/196/1 that was the firth thing that came on google. They put an on/off switch, not really needed I think.
