Raspberry Pi 400 would be perfect for a 11 year old for educational learning, social media, shopping.... Pi 400 is costs 100 bucks. Pair that with a 27" retina screen to complete the build. Runs a recent copy of debian arm. This is excellent value when compared to a 27" iMac.

Oh joy, laptop won't power up, now I have to sit in an uncomfortable chair at a desk instead of on the couch. I contacted my computer geek friend already. I just break things when dealing with a laptop.

I prefer the use of nerd over geek. Know nothing of your laptop, I will guess it is a hard drive failure or power supply issue.

Yes I am going to need a better ergonomic setup as well.

My buddy and I came up with the term "redorkulate". "I'm very sorry honey but I will be late for dinner. I need to redorkulate the hard drive back into the case.

I'm trying to find a super cheap TV on FB to use as a monitor to test things. People are pretty ridiculous in not knowing to post what inputs the TV has. Or model #. Or anything other than a pic of the screen. I hate to tell you folks here this but… watch out cuz there's some real dummies out there.

I love gadgets so I just got a gimbal Smooth4 to play with. I think Squid Game series was shot with a phone camera.

Lol welcome to 2022, Raspberry Pi OS goes 64bit today. The Raspberry Pi contains a UART serial port on the GPIO header on pins 8, TXD (GPIO 14) and 10, RXD (GPIO 15). I use a serial port to connect to the console of network switches and routers.

Toredown my router to get access to the serial port. Mod to add external port before closing up. The serial to usb interface requires a driver in Win95. My goal is to replace the router firmware with an open source firmware.
