Concealed home outdoor grow.

I’m thinking of growing a few plants in our garden, but the one thing I fear is the smell alerting the closest neighbour.
We are rural, and very private, but the area I have identified is around 20 mtrs away from the neighbours boundary fence. There is a wall between the two, and so the grow will be inconspicuous in that sense. Last year I grew two plants and not even behind the wall, but concealed in amongst other plants and tall weeds. I’m wondering, how many plants could I grow without the smell giving them away? The ones I grew previously were freebies, and I took them to seed. Never noticed any smell at all really, but their offspring in my tent is stinking up a storm! Maybe would ten plants would be too many? Then there are also times we have friends around wandering about the place. I can hide them, but maybe not the scent.
Anyone had similar experience? Maybe recommend highly scented plants to camouflage them?

Outside depends on the weather I notice those days with no wind and deep into flower can stink , a lil breeze tho and I can barely smell anything

I would consider the legality of it first . I’ve grown as little as 2 plants to a dozen plants outdoors and they reek in all instances. Growing amongst a veg garden imo is a bad idea . I did it once and even though it’s legal here, what I found is first they grew taller faster than a lot of things in the garden so the hiding thing failed for the most part , second the garden tends to attract a lot of pests and pm so that can be a problem . Third, most of the gardens harvest out before my plants did so again this is we’re the hiding goes out the window with full grown flowered plants in the middle of a harvested plot is pretty obvious lol and you still have the smell issue
